High dose DXM trip's potential lingering effects

I used DXM in the form of Robitussin gels for the first time about 5 months ago. I used one bottle of 20 gels (350 mg I believe). I enjoyed the lower plateau trip quite a bit and now I would like to try one of the higher plateau trips. I was thinking of doubling the amount from last time, I should be able to get a third plateau from that. I remember hearing that people who go for the higher plateaus are a bit "off" afterwards. Does that only count for the 4th plateau and the sigma? I'm pretty confident that one high dose and possibly more in the semi-distant future wont fuck my head up.

DXM is one of those drugs where the amount you take is correlated to how long the effects last. The more you take the longer it will take you to feel "100%" again. Mostly this is caused because DXM and its active metabolites hang around in your body.

Most people find that they can recover from a 3/4 plateau dose in a few days (3-7). The acute effects don't last more than 24-48 hours and usually consist of a pleasant laziness and "head fog".

It's not liker a 3/4 plat DXM trip will turn you into a zombie next day, but don't schedule doing your taxes for the comedown either

So there aren't any permanent lingering effects associated with high DXM doses? I was told that anyone who goes for the higher doses is never quite all there again, I assume the person that told me that was talking about people who did high dose trips frequently. So there is only a week of lingering effects afterwards, not months or years of lingering effects? I've also heard people say that high dose trips can "slow you down". I'm just trying to clarify what is true and what is false.

I did one high dose dxm trip 3rd plateau 3 years ago. Not sure this is caused by it or i just noticed it a few weeks after but word recall is something i occasionally have trouble with now.

High dose trips can cause insomnia, the next day usually leaves you in a pleasant haze or hangover (depends on the person, and other factors). For a good number of people this afterglow/lingering effects may last several days, with some effects sticking around for a week or mores. It's not causing you permanent damage or anything, just be sure to avoid contraindicated combinations.
