Hello Donna. I to am new. I posted a thread as well with no replies so far, leaving me feeling very alone. I may have an answer to your question
 
Ok...I'll give you guys quick rundown..total R knee replacement in December of 2013...poor pain management right out of OR..I've taken about eight 30 mgs morphine sulphate in last two days due to running out of my Dilaudid. I can pick up my Dilaudid script on the 30th (next Thursday). For my very first visit at this pain management clinic, I had stopped the morphine on Sunday morning prior to a Thursday visit 4 days later and it showed up on urine test. I DO NOT want to get spanked and thrown out of this clinic...I live on a coastal resort island off of the coast of Virginia, and my partner Jessica and I have to travel out of state to Maryland to this clinic for pain management (she lost both great toenails and crushed the tips of her big toes by accidentally dropping 500 pounds of granite on them while landscaping, hence the MS Contin). I have been off of the morphine for about two months (was taking 4-5, max of 6 per day), but just started back two days ago due to running out of my Dilaudid until the 30th (next Thursday). I have taken six 30 mgs morphine sulphate tablets since Monday afternoon. If I stop (after taking 3 or 4 today) tonight at bedtime, and drink shit tons of water and take a couple of Lasix 20 mgs every day until Tuesday or Wednesday of next week(don't want to be TOO diluted), will I be clean?? I truly don't abuse the morphine..but this knee is stiff, I am still relatively young, and don't want my quality of life compromised. I will talk to the doctor on 8/6/15 at my regular appointment about upping the Dilaudid to 6 mgs QID.
