Hi guys, I have been viewing for a while now,

Time to register I thought. The name is Ricky.

HI Newbie, i'm also from Ireland. I joined here today so i'm a noob too :D What part of the emerald isle are you from ?

I love Ireland. Particularly the southwest region.... Dingle I love, and Kinsale, and Inch Beach and the Blaskets. I wish I was there right now. I really do.

I'm in the southwest region now ugly. It's a nice drive away to Dingle bay and Inch beach, about an hour and a half. We head there in the summer. Beautiful places especially when it's nice weather and not raining.
Thanks Peace farmer for sending me to find other irish folk.

I suppose it would be beautiful when it wasn't raining but I go in winter when I can go, so it's raining but Irish rain is more beautiful than any rain anywhere. And Dingle's not crowded in the rain. We went up to Ennis also but there's nothing like the southwest of Ireland anywhere. I wanted to teach there and applied but you have to speak Gaelic to teach in Ireland. I can't learn it. Been trying for two years.:(:(

Mind you it rains a good bit here in the summer too, so it would be pot luck if you get a nice day. I'm glad you've been and kinda know where i'm coming from. I'm more down south in Tipperary, theres a song bout it. It's a looooooooong long way to tipperary dom da do do do da da :o) Sorry i had a few last nite. It's my birthday today*
I'm amazed at hearing you say you couldn't teach in Ireland, because you can't speak irish? I learnt it at school alright but the basics like when learning french and other languages. Never could get into it tho. Very few irish people actually speak full gaelic so how can anyone say hey you can't teach here because you don't speak it when it's barely used .-.
Maybe hmm I could only understand it in an all gaelic school, they've invented these in the last few years where they teach fukn everything in irish and that sounds like a chore and a waste of valuable learning time to me.

That's the thing, SCoooBer. I mean they wanted me to be fluent, not know the basics. Right now I teach in Compton, and if you haven't heard of Compton, well, it's the EXACT opposite of Ireland. I have to teach English to kids who speak the WORST kind of street English I might as well be trying to teach them Gaelic. I love street English in Compton to converse in, because there's all sorts of short cuts and awesome metaphors. The kids are really fun to talk to and I love that. Essays, however, always turn out utterly Fecked. I could not add photos to this post so below I put a couple picture links... one is out on Dingle Peninsula and one is in front of a cool shop in Kinsale.

Nice photos! Thanks for sharing them. I've never heard of Compton. I bet it's hard work teaching them or anything to youngsters but fun as they would come out with all sorts..
It must have been one of those all Gaelic schools maybe. It is for sure a hard language to learn, alot of gobbley gook really :) and not usefull in ur every day life. Unless ur planning on wanting a job teaching in one of those schools. To be honest it annoyed me after i left school thinking about it. They put too much time and gave us too many irish classes trying to teach us it when all we would come away with was the basics. You would need to do a full focus very long course in the subject to come away speaking it fluently and then that's a maybe. The same with religion, loads of classes .-. i mean jesus christ haha sorry- double classes every day nearly. What good will that bring me when i enter the world on my own looking for a job that pays bills. If they spent more time on career guidance or english or learnt you a skill or cooking even or anything else but too much Religion or the irish language, is a waste of good learning time for future life.

aaarrrrrgggghhhh! Listening to other people speak Gaelic to each other is really a treat for the ears. Trying to learn to do that myself:::::::: pain. I love you Irish bluelighters. How do you fare for goods in your counties? I did not see the slightest sign of any controlled substance while I was there and I'll tell you, I would have LOVED to smoke a blunt or even a frugal bowl but there weren't nary a site of any such thing. There was absolutely no way I was brave enough to take any marijuana to LAX.

Cead mile failte Nolys :) Connas ata two, not the correct spelling on some bits there but i'm a tryr... hey where can i get some faddas on bluelight ?
I'm a GAA supporter, my home town is very near the one and only great founding stadium of gaelic hurling, hahar where am i from can anyone answer that ?

Hi girly nice to see you on again...You would find any kind of drug ur looking for as long as you connect with the right people aand ask about. No point in taking any weeed or drugs thru customs coming here, they're gone right torough since the terrorist attacks in the USA and stuff. You nearly have to take off ur pants to satisfy them dirty barstewards. i've given up swearing for lent ;>
