Hello, I'm new here obviously. I am located in Los Angeles, CA. As you could imagine it's wonderful over here. As for my job I'm a Mechanic right now. I have a lot of knowledge in other fields though, and believe I can offer a lot to the community. I will see you all around the board! :)

hey, welcome to the boards :) how did you find us?

actually i'm gonna pop a car question to you because i've been trying to figure it out for a minute haha. my 2001 ford taurus used to only start if i let it sit for several hours (if the engine was warm when i tried to start it then it would instantly stall out after rolling over once)... i.e. first thing in the morning it would start no problem, but then i would drive it to the store, shop for a half hour, and then when i made it back to the parking lot the car wouldn't start. eventually it quit starting altogether. any idea what the problem was? i just got the title for it from my dad yesterday, and i can't afford insurance so if i do fix it i'm just gonna sell it...

I found this site a long time ago, as it was mentioned on another site I go on.

Hmm, I have had this problem with one of my older cars, but I can't get it fixed I'm just thinking it's time is up.

Did you check to see if the pressure regulator is leaking? I would check the fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum line off, and smell for gas there. If you smell some gas, but don't see any leave the line off for about 7-10 minutes, and see if any fuel is present in the vacuum port on the regulator, you might have to use a light to see around in there.
If everything is okay, you could stick a fuel pressure gauge on there. Check fuel pressure after you shut it off, it should hold for a long while.
