It would appear to be to improper preparation. The specific lactones have been identified in Kava and demonstrated as being hepatotoxic. Those are cases in which the damage has come to light. Interesting that it seems to show up when used as a supplement which suggests that when traditionally prepared (i.e. total weight is not the issue), it's quite safe.
The figures do show a very low figure on a per-dose basis but if someone is taking it daily for years, those figures are disingenuous. Number of users to liver-damage is more useful, especially since they even STATE that chronic use seems to be the most common factor.
That must simply be there because of the vitality of adequate consistent filtering, i.e. separating kavalactones and other god knows still lol (as science hasn't hardly scrutinized kava, vs say Cannabis under 1% I'd wage)
..of correctly traditionally prepared genuine clean Noble root, Strained! The vital part.
I have two different straining bag microns.
100, and 75 which I prefer tbh.
Both legit kava bags.
I used a prob, 50 micron reg nut milk bag once, it's not enough.
Kava CAN be completely safe, harmless, sustainable and certainly medicinal especially socially, anxiety, pastime, sleep aiding...cannabis enriching too.
In moderation, indefinitely, without any actual real historical indication or record too this leads to liver harm.
Is the real picture, it just isn't out there so loudly like say, cannabis or Psilocybin.
Capsules I tell ev man...steer clear buddy.
Duds or worse.
Most extracts too, just avoid.
In order to be sure of using kava optimally, safely sustainably as nature plotted.
Still, golden rule is alcohol, or kava. Never aside.
24 hrs min, personally I would encourage a few days.
2nd post down,
@Lexilux77 hi I scribbled this out in response to a blind inquiry, as a plain concise overview.
Was TiiiiiiMe ago though and shit tonne of LSD since lol
But basics don't change.
I've seen this drink called kava or kava kava being advertised online, it seems to be legal in most countries around the world. Apparently it is a natural alternative to xanax and benzos and is pretty potent. Has anyone ever tried it? Apparently it affects GABA receptors and is a MAO B enzyme...
