I've been on here for a month know. I came on looking for information on recreational doses for my prescriptions. And how to do so safely. And possibly explore other areas of using.

I am a middle-aged women who has abused Percocet Darvocet and ultracet. Then I would sit down with a fifth of tequila or whiskey or vodka ( whatever was in the house) and then just keep drinking till I was completely numb. That was 8 years ago and it went on for 6 months straight. Never missed a single night.

I have a lot of anxiety a lot of depression and a lot of fear everyday. I also believe I have PTSD due to a very.violent attack on me that came from someone I trusted and had known for over 20 years. Things have been quickly going downhill since then.

I've recently started abusing Neurontin and fioricet in an ever increasing desire to feel like everything is going to be ok. I realize I'm ignoring the underlying issue. But to think of confronting it is extremely scary for me. So for now I feel stuck doing drugs to bury the issues and feelings.

I also want to say I was pleasantly surprised that this site has so much more to offer. From the advice from those way more experienced are able to give and to the overall feeling of a loving community of people supporting each other in any way they can. From all the different drug forums to the ones that focus on mental health and recovery.support. this place is just a very warm and comforting home to come to when you feel like you have no other place to go.

Thankyou for letting be a member and thank you For all the hard work each and every one of you do.

Hope that wasn't to long

Love,
Me

Hi, Welcome to Bluelight!
Thank you for sharing your experience. I've used all of those except floricet, and…. I am not you but I've been in places and still go there today where it seems everything is not going to be alright. Lift up the fear and there is often pain or unresolved issues for me, I am working on.

This site has a plethora of info indeed as you mentioned. It has been tremendously helpful for me. Thank you for your support! Sending much love and good healing energy to you on your journey forward. :) <3

Hi and welcome<3...your post definitely was not too long:). If you read any of mine you'd understand why I say that:). It sounds like your life is about as tough as mine. If you ever want to talk, I'll be here to listen...lots of love<3

Thankyou so much bernc1. I read a bit of the petrified thread you made. If you need someone to talk to too I'm here and lots of love to you too

Thanks<3...Ha:)...since you read some then you know about how I write long things. I guess I just find some sort of therapy in doing so...or at least for now. After the surgery and when I'm out of my meds I'm not quite sure I'll be feeling that way:(.

I was wondering something....I have high bp and take lisinopril...have you or anyone else heard of clonidine (for bp) being useful for wds?

I apologize I have never heard of clonidine and I don't have much advice about wd :-(

Clonidine most definitely for withdrawals. One in am one in pm to keep bp from spiking very high. It has a long 1/2 life.

Don't know if I would be here today or able to get off opiates if I didn't have the Clonidine available for withdrawal. Made a tremendous difference for my sx. Of course ask your doctor and don't take it for too long as it can have a rebound effect. I took it first 4-5 days. :)

Thank you so very much for the advise. This was all a sort of "surprise surgery" in which I had thought I had more time to deal with my addiction appropriately yet I also don't want to use this surgery as an excuse to get more. I'm quite sure that my surgeon would be more then happy to prescribe me clonidine as opposed to dishing me out more oxycodone and that's how I'd prefer it to be as well:). Reading what you just said gave me more hope that I can kick this habit even if I'm in the worst pain ever post op since I've found out the hard way that using narcotics to treat pain actually causes (besides of course withdrawals when a person runs out) a rebound pain effect that is much worse then the original. Thanks again:)
