Hexane and dichloropropane wash

it is safe to use this mixture 95%hexane and 5% dichloropropane to wash impurities?
it would leave toxic residues after evaporating?

there will be a little left, but it's negligible if you evap thoroughly.
did you already try a wash? i's suggest and anhydrous ace wash fisrt.

i want to wash brown MDAI
there is somebody, here in bluelight, that has succesfully washed it using warm heptane, and got white, pure MDAI
as far as now, i didn't do anything, since i could not find heptane, but only this mixture 95hexane+5dichloropropane. also i guess it would be hard for me to find anhydrous acetone

my first concern is about dichloropropane(DCP (?)) . i know that dichlorometane(DCM) is higly poisonus and higly mutagenic. And also, all chlorine stuff, sounds everything but safe, in my opinion.
however dichloroPropane its not listed as mutagenic in humans(but in fact, it is carcinogenic in mice). in humans its "just" hepatotoxic

well, if this solvent leaves some residues, all the job may be useless, since the final product could be even more toxic than the impurity itself...which is not that toxic or deadly.. but..you know..who knows what's in this impurity, could be anything... but, here, again, the residue of the solvent wash should be minimal, right? hmmm ..dammit.. why people sells impure stuff...

(uhm.. i thought this may be a basic Question&Answer ..but it seems to me that this thread is somehow eveolving in a technically advanced way...maybe i should have posted this in ADD from the beginning! )

Hexane...watch that you avoid breathing it in, n-hexane (but not so for other isomers) is unusually toxic for your average aliphatic hydrocarbon, as a metabolite can cause neuropathy (the toxic metabolite is the 2,5-diketone), which means it basically fucks your peripheral nervous system up.

This is however, from chronic exposure, or shortterm exposure to larger amounts. Both solvents are volatile and will evaporate cleanly and totally once the drug is left to dry properly.
