I am needing to make that jump to suboxone and get off drugs, especially after I have started using heroin. I've been doing the heroin for 4 months now, I have some oxycodone and dilaudid pills, short acting pills. Should I just go from the heroin to suboxone, or should I go from the heroin to the oxycodone for a few days then to suboxone. I know my addict brain keeps making all kinds of excuses because I have tried to get to suboxone but keep failing and back to heroin. So is this Idea of going to pills first instead of heroin to the sub just my addicted mind keeping me on pills a little bit longer? What should I do here please. I am wanting to avoid the precipitated wds. It's getting hopeless and I know where that leads to. The last times I went to Sub, I went in precipitated wd"s......... So I'm definitely wanting to avoid this. My thinking here is that the heroin I'm taking could have some long half life stuff in it, there for throwing me in to precipitated wd's Thanks to all that help

Yes, go to the pills first. Most people are not lucky enough to have pills when they're coming off dope so they have to suffer.

I've come off of everything except heroin and I know how hard everything else is, terrible, and I don't know if I can live through another wd. So why shouldn't I go to the sub while going through withdrawals from the heroin? Instead of taking more oxycodone then going through the withdrawals to sub? I guess the only reason is that I'm scared something would be in the heroin that had a long half life and would throw me into precipitated wd's

Surely to a large extent these are all opiates, if you have a script for subs they should pretty much deal with WDs from both the pills and the Heroin ?...am I missing something obvious here ?

You'll still have the subs to deal with, it's not something I have any experience of but most seem to suggest a controlled taper off of these is significantly less painful than trying to CT off heroin or opiate pills.

I need help gettting onto Suboxone. I'm going from sniffing 30 bags a day for the past month to taking 8 mgs of Subs, but I can't stand the runny nose, nervousness, etc. So I've been sniffing about 10 bags a day on top of the subs. How do I stop? Please help/

Take this from me. This is not only my opinion, but also my experience.

Suboxone/Subutex is one of the hardest things to stop. The longest withdrawals of ANYthing out there that I have EVER done. BY FAR.

If you notice, searching about quitting subs/bupe brings up thousands of posts and threads. You can open as many as you want. You'll then go on to see that all these people asking for help quitting bupe... never quit bupe. I mean, maybe like 2% of the people I've read posts from have ended up claiming they kicked the bupe habit. I've been 21 days twice, and 2 weeks 2 or 3 times. The last time was a 21 day stretch of being clean. Day 21 felt like day 10 to me. Ended up finding some hydros... thought I would just "take a break" from detoxing for a couple of days...
Got back on pills, again.

I've done tapers, I've done cold turkey. Obviously, cold turkey is a PITA. Tapers... well, it's not like you just "taper". No... you have to taper down to .125-.250mg. Well, one thing is, 8mg pills or strips is about all there is around here, at least, and is probably the most common form it comes in. It's not exactly easy to split up 1x 8mg pill or strip into 32 pieces. I have tapered down to taking .5mg "A DAY". And, SOMEHOW, that tiny amount was STILL working in me. 1/16 of a strip... and I knew that I had took it. I knew if I DIDN'T take it.

They made something very nasty when they invented bupe... and it filled in the market area of teens to 45 year olds. And they made the half life incredibly long, they made the buzz incredibly weak (after your 5th day, you do not get high off this drug... plus the MAJOR ceiling effect. Less is more). I dunno, I'm getting pissed just typing about it and thinking about this nasty drug.

Try this.... before you go out and score a huge quantity, be sure to just try 1/8 of an 8mg pill/strip... and tell me if it doesn't keep you high all day (first 4-5 days, it does get your high), plus make you feel like SHIT the next day from it. Bad news, right there. Hell, I can binge meth for 55 hours, come down, go to sleep, wake up, and feel better than I do after doing bupe for one day.

I had experimented with it a few times throughout one year... then went to a Subutex doctor and got prescribed 3 a day and was on them 100% daily for 3 years, and now it's going on 4 years. I kinda know what I'm talking about. I will say this... there is only one other thing that has withdrawals that I would rather experience the bupe withdrawals over. And that is methadone. Wow, extreme W/D's from that crud. As are the W/D's from xanax, but I've had them worse from Klonopin. Went 3 weeks with cold chills from cold turkey stopping Klonopin because my doctor made everyone, according to a "new rule". So, even with bupe, I still had the cold chills/sweats from klon for 3 weeks easy, but it wasn't as intense as bupe.

bklynproblem.. It takes about 3 days for the bupe to get built up in your system. Also, it is likely to make you even sicker if you already have heroin in your system before dosing your bupe. How long have you consecutively been taking the bupe?
