Heroin Heroin taper via different ROA

Am I fooling myself by thinking that changing my ROA as well as the amount of dosage will work to effectively taper me off through at least the worst withdrawals? For instance, going IV to a smaller dose IM? Or would I need to go further than that? I could keep up the IM shots at smaller and smaller doses. I might not be making much sense, I'm incredibly high as I write this. Just wondering if anyone has tried anything similar. Just a straight heroin taper

This probably won't work that well. Maybe try going to insufflated dosing? IM is kind of dangerous as well if you don't know what you are doing. I wish I could help you more, and wish you the best of luck.

In my experience, tapering off heroin with heroin is just completely ineffective. I've never managed to control myself, I need to just quit the H for good and jump on another drug or I'll just get back to my usual ROA/doses. If you can get your hands on another strong opiate type oxy (or well the maintenance ones obviously), or any drug that isn't your DOC really, it would probably be much easier. I think your plan would necessitate a lot of self-control that most people don't have in those types of situations.

Idk I'm just being honest hopefully you'll do better than I did with that. And as ^ said, try snorting instead. Dyou live in a country where you could get codeine OTC otherwise?

DONT IM H.. you feel how it feels to miss a vein right? that shit is messed with so much you dont know what it is mixed with.. my sister did once and about lost her arm over in Italy.. maybe thats Italian H but im sure there is some of that shit floating around USA.. try tramadol to taper man. it helps me to stop WD from shit like that..

First of all, IM'ing H is a bad idea. If you're going to change your ROA, plug it, snort it, etc. Don't IM.

That being said, the entire idea of coming off heroin with heroin is highly impractical. Many people have tried it and I don't know anybody who it's ever worked for.. to think that a heroin addict is going to randomly be able to control his use after an entire history of not being able to, (hence becoming an addict and in this situation to begin with), is just not probable.

That is why drugs like methadone, bupe, etc are used. If it were as easy as just tapering off with the H, then there wouldn't be any methadone clinics or doctors writing bupe scripts...but we all know that's not the case.

I have to agree with everyone. Unless you have more self control than me or anyone I've ever met, tapering down with your DOC is damn near impossible.

However, if your choice is either blow through it all or try to taper, I don't see the harm. Please DO NOT use it im it though. That's really only safe with a sterile solution, which heroin is not. Try going from iv to plugging to snorting.

If you can get on bupe or methadone I'd reccommend using that to taper instead, it doesn't require the same type of super human willpower (not that it's easy either though). Good luck.
