Heroin strength in and around Brisbane

Because the bupe only lets some of the heroin doc onto the receptors dude.....that's why he needs more. And to some degree you are right, bupe pushes up tolerance. Doubled my Oxy tolerance after one dose.....

I seriously doubt any H in australia is 90% purity, no one would come across that pure H and not cut it down a bit to make more money. Also if you're only going off anecdotal evidence and have only picked up heroin once, how can your opinion mean anything? The australian crime comissions purity testings show that it obviously sits around 30% these days, and in the heroin peak in 1999 (where you could go to a certain SW sydney suburb and get a fairly pure heroin cap for lower then the current price per point) it shows it was around 50%, which seems to check out, so I think their data is reliable when it comes to purity, as they would have obtained a large amount of samples from various parts of australia.
check out the article below....
.
the 88 street deal heroin samples seized by cabramatta police from OCT 96- MAR 97 were tested for purity with an average of 66%, and 15% of the samples had purity levels in the very high range ( 91-100% ). I realise that back then heroin was more available then today but there's still some good info in that article which is still relevent today. It shows that 90+ pure heroin is not unheard of on the streets in australia.

I've only tried aussie heroin a few times, and never from brisbane, but it felt like it was around 40 - 50% for me, gauged off comparisons to pharmaceutical morphine.

Kinda wish I was back in Sydney in the late 90's, being able to jump on a train and grab a cap of 60% + smack would be amazing.

personally i think the problem these days is that most long term users I know of are in fact long term bupe or meth users and that basically means they have to shoot several times more then the average person in order to get a taste.

I've had some stuffed that's knocked the socks off of my feet and yet the guy on bupe next to me can't get the shit into his vein fast enough.

Tolerance is just a fact of life, it happens with almost every recreational drug, the more you use, the more you need to achieve the same effect.

I'd like to see the pharmaceutical industry put some more investigation into the ability of NMDA antagonists to delay reduce or delay tolerance, but I doubt it will ever happen since it would probably result in a loss of profits through decreased drug sales for meds like benzos and painkillers.

Cheers for sharing that report.

Never realized street level stuff was that pure on average back then, I just thought it was cheap. The fact that it was so pure AND inexpensive helps explain why the scene got so massive.

If I could hop on a train and get 66% pure herion, with no harmful cuts for that price - I'd find it pretty bloody hard to keep away from.

^^^^your welcome mate, yeh after i read that i had to post it. Its crazy how high the average purity levels were for those street samples, and how clean. I went to high school around that area in the mid - late 90s and worked in that suburb in 2000 and 2001 and i remember afew times on the train id get someone come up to me and ask "if i was alright or needed anything". Lol that was the way they usually would approach. The dealers would jump on at canley vale or warrick farm and jump off at vise versa. And if someone was looking to score they just needed to stand at the bus shelters at cabra station to get.

I remember when I was younger, around the same time the annual heroin overdose tally was listed in the news paper, going to the shops in the CBD was something I always looked forward to. I'd get off at Flinders station and from there, wherever I walked in the city, dozens of people continually raised their eyebrows at me every time I went. At the time, I thought that I must have looked gay and they were looking for sex LOL. I did notice a lot of them had a certain street look about them though, and of course I eventually found out when I grew up they were trying to sell me gear. I mustn't have looked that gay after all :(

The gear I get in Brissy is around about 25-40% pure in my estimates. It's usually pretty good, but lately a few batches have been very underwhelming. On the whole, brissy's scene is alright, if you know the right people.
