Heroin feels like alcohol?

A lot of people say that a heroin high feels comparable to alcohol intoxicaton, except without the sluggishness of alcohol. Is this true? Don't want any "hell no alcohol is bullshit" responses (because alcohol is actually great), just mature and educated answers please :)
 
oh boy.... it's a totally different ball game my friend. if you have ever had any codeine or vicodin it would be only comparable to those and there is a big difference between them as it is. opiates are not in the same ballpark as alcohol at all in my eyes.
 
Nah. I love alcohol, but the euphoria of opiates, especially heroin, is much much much more pronounced.

In the sense that heroin gives euphoria and lowers inhibitions, heart rate/breathing, anxiety and can make you friendly (or incoherent and selfish), yes, it is a bit like alcohol; but in a nutshell: NO!
 
This is more of a basic question so I'll move it to Basic Drug Discussion for you.

In my experience, opioids are nothing at all like alcohol. The positive feeling from alcohol doesn't even compare with the euphoria that opioids induce in my experience.

The only similarity i can think of would be that they both can make you sleepy. Besides that, the effects of alcohol are nothing like the effects of opiates. Alcohol is like a sloppier fucked up in my experience, and tends to lead to more bad than good. Not that doing opiates leads to anything good, but people tend to do ridiculous things while drunk, this really isn't the case with opiates.
 
theyre both sedating thats about it. alcohol feels somewhat similar to benzos or other GABAergics but not opiates
 
i like booze but smack is WAY better.

the euphoria of heroin, though short lived, is so much better than alcohol. booze is fun, heroin is heavenly.
 
Yeah, heroin euphoria isn't really something you can understand until you've tried it for yourself. Honestly, if H (or whatever strong opiate of choice) is a perfect 10 drug in terms of non-subjective euphoria, alcohol is at best a 2 or 3.
 
Actually, all of you guys dont have a clue. If you inject pure alcohol it effects your brain in a way that is more closely related to opiates than any other drug, thus equally bad withdrawls with alcahol and opiates and no other drugs. Also, i was on heroin for two years and methadone for over a year and got clean from all of it, so im not just talking bullshit. if you inject pure alcahol it feels more like opiates than anything else that exists drugwise(from experience). Im not suggesting you do this by any stretch but it is true. Alcahol causes your brain to react as it would to a speedball, but without the stimulating effect. This is very dangerous and im not saying shoot alcahol, im just saying that this post is very true.
 
If i had a choice between a great night out clubbing and drinking with good people or staying home and shooting heroin.

but good people are hard to come by...


i've shot all kinds durgs, from meth to dillies..

really it depends what your options are and what you want from the experience.

ive also banged vodka and i know you're talking shit.
 
Obviously they aren't the same but alcohol does kill pain and give a warm feeling, so there's at least one similarity - not to mention alcoholism can be treated with Naltrexone, so obviously alcohol has an effect on the endogenous opioid system

Personally I've always thought alcohol was the closest thing to opiates myself
 
Very different drugs, as everyone has said. Figured I'd reinforce it :)
The only similarity is that they are both downers. But that is such a general topic that you can't say that one definitely feels like the other.
 
(LOL at jesse. ive shot vodka and 151, never got drunk off it... and it sure as hell didnt feel like heroin, im not sure what kind of dope ur getting, but i would go elsewhere)

go take like 5 30mg roxy's and tell me if it feels like alcohol, even still thats not like heroin.
heroin is heroin, do it to experience it. i wouldnt recommend it though, heroin not only ruined MY life, but my families life. when your friend brings you to your parents doorstep, while your heart isnt beating and your white as a piece of paper, and lips are blue- that doesnt leave good memories for your mom/dad. i OD'd another time, and was pushed into the gutter in the middle of the hood, then my car was stolen by a "friend" (who pushed me out), so he could go sell his kpins and get more dope. didnt call 911 or anything for me. luckily an elderly couple found me and called me in. ive got several stories like this, 6 to be exact. my family use to have plenty of money, and live comfortable. i have been 2 years clean, but with all my hospital bills and rehab, and jail- my family is now dirt poor, and bearly can get enough money to get groceries for 2, let alone pay car insurance, gas, cigs, anything... everything is ruined in my family (financially) because of me, and my choice to choose heroin. i have severe heart problems now, i have successfully destroyed all the valves in my heart- and was told i wont live to see age 40... and not to mention the risk of hep c.. so as my life may be ruined and cut short, i could still try to save yours.. either way, its your choice, and i know most likely you wont give 2 shits about what i have to say- as most people are like this when it comes to drugs, thinking they know everything, and addiction this serious wont happen to them. well ill tell you, its VERY VERY easy to become this on H. to where you dont care about what anybody tells you, your family, anyone... you only care about H, where your going to get it, HOW your going to get it, and when your going to do it, thats honostly all you will care about. trust that...

if you DO decide to do this drug, never mix it with xanax unless you have a deathwish.

please reconsider. try it maybe once, but never touch it again. and if you put a needle in your arm, even once, you might as well sell your soul to the devil. if you have any questions, or would like to discuss this drug, please feel free to send me a PM. i am very experienced in H and will inform you with anything you have questions on.
