Every kid about to graduate high school goes through that phase of anxiety and confusion where they just aren't sure what to do... at least that's how I see it, because you have all these different interests and hobbies and dreams that you want to do for the rest of your life but just aren't sure which one would be the best for you to choose...

For me, I'm fucking head-over-heals for music, I can't get enough of it and could easily go study at UNC-Asheville and become a recording engineer. That would be fun, but my other half is in love with helping people and making people happy, which is where psychology (what I've been studying all senior year) or something else would come into play...

If I were to choose the helping career path, what are some careers in or outside of psych that would maybe fit my intentions.. and give your opinion on what might be the best way to go...

Thanks

Social worker is one way to go. Depends what kind of help you want to offer people. Do you want to help people who are on the path to jail get better? Or atleast try to help them. Do you want to help couples with their relationships. Do you want to help people get off drugs and stay clean? There are a lot of ways to help people. Do you have a general idea of what kind of help you want to offer? Do you know what kind of people or problems you want to target to help?

Music is a great field too. Although with me, if I'm not the one playing the music, I don't hve much interest in working in the field. Producers and all that is fine, but it depends what kind of love you have for music. To me non instrumental music careers just seems more oriented towards computer and audio processing, that sort of thing. Less towards actual music. That's just my opinion though.

So any ideas?
