OK determine these results for me.....

Mecke - Dark blue/black within 20 seconds

Simon - Dark blue within 20 seconds

Marquis - No reaction, no smoke, no color change

Shouldn't the the Marquis change color to Blue/Black if the other tests indicated as such?

^ Yes it should.

While there are a few substances listed that react to produce color with Mecke but not Marquis, I can't find one that is a secondary amine. However, while it's not listed, I'm not sure if Mecke reacts or not with PMMA. Possibly not, but I'd advise erring on the side of caution and not consume anything based on these results.

Thanks for the reply, I tested on a new kit and everything came back normal. Must have been a bad reagent!!! (Kit is a bit old)
