Can anyone help me with following results:

Marquis: dark brown

Simons: dark blue

Robadope: no color

Mandelin: brown

Mecke: from dark blue to black

This is a powder that was suposed to be pure speed. As i got mixed results, i'm not sure what this really is?

I've been looking over the miles of pages I have on reaction colors but there is no combination I can find with the colors you report that matches any one substance. Meth containing unreduced pseudoephedrine may explain the brown mandelin if this is only a light brown, but it does not explain the color change for Mecke.

Assuming there is no MDMA present, there are quite a few other pharmaceuticals, narcotics etc that will turn Mecke blue, but this is generally described as a light blue.

One listed as producing a dark blue is Mefenamic (ref: Clarke's), a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory agent. It's possible the meth was cut with something like this, but it really only a wild guess.

I would suggest you repeat the exercise under a strong white light, and note any subtle changes in color. Before testing, examine the powder under a magnifying glass (or microscope if available) and look for inconsistency in form. This may indicate that more than one substance is present.

Thanks for good info. First powder is not 100% consistent. It's also somewhat moist. It's strange robadobe didn't give me any color change. By these results, could this powder contain MDxx?
I did mandelin and mecke again:
Mandelin: first some light green turning to brown slowly, but still some green color left at the edges.
Mecke: quick change from dark blue/purple to black

mmm....I would hazard a guess you've either got a small amount of MDMA mixed with methamphetamine, or meth with some form of opiate.

An older forensics paper lists the color of Mecke with codeine phosphate as being a green--> blue, although it doesn't on it's own account for the other reaction colors. Clarke's Analysis of Drugs and Poisons states that opiates will turn Mecke an immediate blue or green, but there's no mention of it turning black.

I can therefore only conclude that there must be a mixture of substances (2 or more) present. I'll get back to you if can find anything else.

Thanks for the info. I never used amphetamines, but i tought to give it a try in very small doses once in a while for studiying purposes (can't get ritalin or adderral here).
