Opioids Help with methadone detox.

Hello fellow bluelighters let me first say that i love this site and have used it many times to get information About substaces and being a former heroin addict have saved myself harm using many times. The purpose for todays post is to hopefully get some input on my current situation. Now i have been clean of heroin for a whole two months after a gram of pure a day habbit. Im currently sitting at a ninety milligram a day methadone habbit. I have been attending a clinic here in bothel wa. I live an hour and a half drive on the freeway away from this clinic and after two months of methadone maintenance here i have ran out of money. This has been a great program for me and highly recomend it for anyone with a hefty addiction to opiods that can attend such. Now on saturday i will be taking my last ninety milligram dose. The clinic will also be giving me two ninety milligram take home doses. I am planing on using the take homes to do a short stepdown to no methadone. I also have some access to some benzos and subutex if they are needed. I guess i am trying to get some imput on how you guys would do it with one hundred and eighty milligrams of methadone. Remember i also have access to klonapin and subutex too. So any non flame respons es would be much appreciated. I have searched around for information about detoxing and didnt have to good of luck so maybe if you guys kno of some good links that would be helpfull too. Thanks to all that are willing to help me, as you guys know what im about to go through. Im just thankful that im not going through it in jail.

I'm from the UK so know jack shit about the US and theyre health and social care especially surrounding addicts and just about anyone who needs some form of medical help, it perplexes me so much how the average American fears nationalized healthcare, and it's situations like this that make me feel sick and shake my head in horror, to abruptly stop someone who is on 90mg of methadone is not only dangerous but go's against the oath a doctor takes, I've never understood how they expect addicts to afford such services.
I remember loosing my script once when i was on 60mg of meth and any drug maintenance is now prescribed by government funded private companies, I tryed to acccess theyre dr to get a new script but he was fully booked for 3 weeks so they expected me to go with out for 3 weeks, i went and seen my GP(local Dr) he was horrified that they could leave me W/D from 60mg so wrote me a script up for methadone even though dr's now arnt really allowed to prescribe meth for drug maintenence so he put it down as for pain management.

I don't understand anything about US and health insurance but couldnt you find a dr's surgury and explain the situation to him, any logical human being can see that coming from 90mg of meth to 0 is going to be hellish, try getting some britlofex of your dr.

The only real advice i can offer is to stock is stock up on a lot of benzo's if available and immodium. You mentioned kratom too, i've head that can help, I'd normally suggest a codiene based painkiller too which can take the edge of but im pretty sure it wont do much for a 90mg meth habbit.



I was gonna post this in one of those hidden quotes with the buttons just for a last resort if it gets too much, but i dont know how to do them.
I've never agree'd with prescrbing meth for heroin addiction, i'm stuck on a meth script now due to them placing me on it in jail, but the previous times ive been placed on methadone i havent been able to handle the W/D's from methadone, so i'd scrap the meth and take gear for about a week and a half, not enough to get high just enough to hold back w/d's then once the meth has left my system i'd just stop taking the gear and do a rattle from that once you've experienced a methadone rattle you realize that a heroin one is nothing, plus a meth rattle can last over 3 weeks were a H one last about 5-7 days with slight after effects lingering for a few more.

I'm only recomending this as a extreme last resort if the shit gets to much, meth is the devils juice and i could imagine the agony from coming down from 90mg.

I don't think that kratom will really help for a 90mg methadone habit. If you choose to take subutex, make sure to wait at least 3 days after your last methadone dose before taking the subutex. Some people switch over to a short acting opiate for a week or so, and then wait 24 hours after taking the last dose of that opiate before taking subs.

OcCo - Yes the problem with the U.S.' drug maintenance programs is that in each state there is different laws. I am here in washington state which is divided up of like ten or so counties. And believe it or not each county has its own laws on the clinics. So Im driving 90 miles each day through two and a half different counties to get my dose every day. Luckily i have some very loving parents that help me out alot and who also share a hatred for this countries system on drug maintenance. Some counties are better than others. I travel to a big county because mine is too small and there are too many drug addicts here with not enough clinics. The clinics are backlogged for ever it seems like well in reality like 6 months so I'm stuck with this clinic 90 miles away. Listen to this. the clinic closes at 11:30am usually. yesterday i had court at 8:30 here where i live and ended up showing up at the clinic at 10:04 I shit you not. and It just so happens that every third Wednesday of the month they close early at 10:00 am. So yesterday I did not even get to dose. This led me to buy a 50mcg\hr Fentynal patch. The mylan ones without the gel inside. So even though i didn't dose yesterday i was OK because I was able to buy that patch. I could have gotten dope but man it has been so long since I have used. Ukno I would feel like a complete piece of shit if i did use ukno. But i did slip up once about a month ago so i do occasionally use. yes that does make sense about using for a bit. Ya i have felt the done withdrawl only slightly so far. but even the little bit i have experienced so far has been incredibly intense. Even more so then a gram of pure habbit does! Which is fricking amazing. So yah I fear some nasty shit coming. puke and shit at the same time kinda stuff lol. It's weird today i do not feel so hot. I believe the fentynal is interacting with my daily dose.
Anyway sofar I have got ahold of ten .5 xanaxs and this weekend i will be getting roughly ten 2mg kpins. so that should def help. not sure what kind of money i will have avail to get some dope but subs are cheap so maybe just detox off the done for a week or so with just benzos and then taper with some sub??? Anyways thx dood

Tommyboy - Ok good to know not to waste my money then. I have never tried the stuff so I was just wondering thanks. Yes I have heard of doctors switching methadone maintenance patients to like three of those roxy 30s a day and then over to subs. So good point on that. I will def. have to wait for the methadone to clear my system. Wouldn't want to go into precipitated withdrawls now would I. Uhhhhh.....man this is going to suck lol. Do you think 4-5 Days with no methadone would be adequate to start tapering with sub or maybe H??? Thanks dood

Kratom will not touch your habit. Personally I would be horrified to tackle that without the bupe you have... I switched from a year of 80mg meth to 12mg bupe easily.. so theres no reason you can't do that. Also, I personally don't think 90 mg oxy daily would cover your methadone habit.. I am not really sure about that though.

make sure you wait 4-5 days after your last meth dose to dose the bupe though other wise you will not get ANY releif. What I did was pick up dope for 4 or 5 days, then I waited 24-36 hours basically as long as I could stand it before dosing the bupe sublingually..and I avoided PW's. Took me like 2 weeks to feel 100% or close to it..but the bupe easily covered my methadone habit.

If you force your self into precitated withdrawals you WILL feel like death. Youve only been on for 2 months right? If you were on 2 years I would say it could even be deadly to go into PW's from a 90mg methadone dose...depending how dehydrated you got from being sick and shit.

Are you sure your clinic won't float you for like 2 weeks? I went like 6 weeks without paying my $50 a week before they booted me.. I was just waiting for them to boot me then I was going to start my bupe transition. Worked out good. I never looked back walking out of that scumfuck clinic full of elderly lifers some of which were blind or paralyzed and still having to dose daily at the clinic becauise they are failing drug tests. I am not any better than them I just don't see my self doing that when I am over 80...lol. You could probably get your takehomes and sell them and easily get enough money for a week at the clinic. It's worth missing 2 days of takehomes.. you won't even be properly sick after 2 days anyway.

I am not an expert at all,but all I can do is tell you from my expierance...I have a friend who took 140 mg's methadone /daily and he was always running out early,or loosing his DR...I mean this was every month...He found out that a drug called LYRICA(pregabalin) helped alot with his withdrawels...he said it almost completly saved him...now this drug is very expensive there is another drug call Neaurontin(gabapentin) that is a weaker version of lyrica that also helped..My advice would be go to your Family Dr,and ask for one of these two drugs,they are generally prescribed for nerve pain,or restles leg syndrome,fibromyalgia(sp) I currently take 90mg's a day of methadone and I fear my dr.will retire and leave me high and dry!!! that is a nightmare!!goodluck!!

Forgot to mention DHC can help a fair bit and its pretty cheap on the net, theres no sourcing here so i apologize for being unable to point you in that direction but if your arrested here in the uk and have a opiate habbit they give you 120mg of DHC every 4 hours, it doesnt do much but helps plus i normally get a couple of diazepam of the duty nurse to and the combo helps alot. So if your stuck mate find a site selling dihydrocodiene, immodium and any benzo you can get a hold off try etizolam it seems to be floating around everwere now and 10 tablets costs like £3.50 $4.75, obviously its not gonna fully cure you but it will help a lot.

I'm gonna be honest, those 2 doses aren't gonna do much but put off the enevitable. Best thing to do would be to taper but I see money is an issue. I've gotten off methadone before twice and I can say from experience that the withdrawal last a long time so prepare for that.

Thanks so much guys for the Info I have a doctors appointment on thursday and will ask for the lyrica. And im going to try to find some of that DHC since you guys say it seems to be floating around. hopfully my doctor will just help me with some good detox meds. but ive gotten ahold of ten 2mg kpins now so hopefully i dont burn through those too fast. i have about 30 mgs of methadone left it definatly went alot faster than i thought haha. Im going to get some bupe soon so hopefully i can detox with the help of subutex and i have a big stockpile of immodium. how much of the loperamide do you guys think i should take? THX

Anywho an update so my family doctor is helping my big time. She is giving me 2 30mg morphines and 2 10mg percs (babies) and 1 Klonapin at night time. Yesterday I went in for my first check up and she took away one perc a day and gave me daytime klonapin. The Klonapin aint doing shit though. She is a very cool doctor and we have a very good relationship. She tells me that we can switch up my benzo to a twice a day short acting if I want. she suggested ativan but im pretty sure that I can convince her to give me xanax. What you guys think?? Also I am still thinking about getting kratom for the actual get off everything week. She is going to be taking away my other oxy in about a week and it will be only morphine by the. BTW oxy suks dick for withdrawl IMO. the morphine and benzo are what really seem to be helping. So what you guys think about the kratom. Also should i get like a concentrated kratom or regular?? Places even have tincures. Whats the best way to ingest???
