Help with injecting 4mg hydromorphone pills

Want to stop wasting these pills and want to make sure I'm doing everything as safe as possible. Have clean syringes cotton and spoon. I know there's things better than cotton but it's what I have now and want to make this work. Help if possible.

Crush pills, add water, NO HEAT, sterilize inject site, register, lift off.

That's pretty much it. It's been probably 15 years since I have. Just sick of wasting them up my nose
