I just spent about an hour typing a reply that I put alot of thought into, to find out I couldn't post it. Due to: Unbeknowest to me, I wasn't signed in at the time.

Not because I signed out, because suddenly...I am signed out. This isn't the first time this has happened. How do I avoid this...refresh the page? And if I do that, am I going to lose what I just typed? I'd like to avoid this in the future...How do I avoid being sent into oblivion?

Thanks for your help...:?:!

^ You may have to click "remember me" or whatever it is on this site.. because web browsers these days will automatically refresh thus signing you out..

Sometimes if you click back, if you are lucky, your post will still be there.. so you can copy it, sign in, and paste it..

Thanks rickolasnice...Where is "remember me"? I will try going back to see if I still have what I typed. Damn, I am so frustrated right now...I put so much thought into that lol.. :! Damn computers.

Thankyou again for being so helpful and prompt. I appreciate that. :) Also, you were exactly on point about how you explained to find an old thread...when I did what you explained to do, I found it in a second. Well done.

PS- Usually I don't get suddenly booted out of websites...ever. I'm wondering if that's a policy I missed on BL...I'm trying to get acclamated.

:) No problem.. if i remember correctly.. when you are not signed in there should be a little box beneath your "username" and "password" bits which you can tick to keep you signed in.. I'll check now..

Edit: Yep.. if you sign out.. when you sign back in (top right) there should be a little tick box beneath it saying: "Remember Me"..

Used to happen to me all the time.. until I clicked that box.. Depending on your browser settings (and wants) you should be constantly signed in.. Might not want to do that (or remember to sign out) if you are using a shared computer or what not..

You are from the U.K....you used the word "bits". I have friends that live in the U.K....they also say bits. Ok, I will try that. Here I go (while being quite frustrated right now...computers have a way of doing that to me.) Uuugggh.

Really Love This Website, BUT Incredibly Difficult to Post a Longer Post...

Hello Everyone,

I love this website, I'm very new here. Very cool and different...I've been reading it all week.

BUT it is incredibly difficult to post a lengthier post here due to constantly being thrown off of the site, I'd say every fifteen minutes...I cannot tell you how frustrated I am.

I've been trying to post since about...I'd say 11 a.m. It's now 4:15 p.m., 5hrs and 15mins :| I'm worn out from trying to compose a response. It's ridiculous.

My first post, that took about an hour for me to write and correct got zapped into oblivion. It was exactly what I wanted to say, and now, nothing is coming out right.

I really do love<3 this website, but with all the rules, getting booted out every fifteen mnutes8), having to sign in again8), is putting me off. It's a shame. When someone is composing something serious to them and keeps getting their train of thought interrupted constantly, it's not pleasant...If I see "Auto-Saved" pop up one more time. uugggh.

After being thrown off so many times and some advice from another member I understand, that I have to log back in, refresh the page, etc. but at this point, I lost my mojo. I don't know if I'll return to this site. Never have I experienced anything like this on any website. Hope everyone is well today. :)

Hey tambourine-man, I tried that, it didn't work...

I was just trying to post on another thread, and have been thrown off twice...uuugggh. It wasn't even a long response....Thankyou for your suggestion, I really appreciate that.:) Oh wait, I just noticed you said "click remember me when I log in"...ok...haven't tried that, but sure will. Again, thank you. :)

PS- I meat that I realize you meant right when I log in...thanks for the help

^If you do that, then as you compose a reply it will periodically save your progress, so you won't have this problem. :)

Give it a shot and tell us if it works for you.

hello sbfrompa

there's no need to start two threads on the same subject. i have merged your two threads to keep this conversation in one place.

can you clear your browser cache and (bluelight-related) cookies and try again. which browser are you using (name and specific version)?

thanks

alasdair
