Help wanted for: Cooking treats containing mushrooms and cannabis

So i have cannaoil and mushie honey. I want to make an awesome cake as a surprise to a friend however i have no experience with said honey in a baking setting.. will the heat destroy the properties? and does anyone have any experience cooking a treat like this before. Any info would be awesome. i can make a yummy cake just the cannaoil but it needs an extra kick

Use the honey to make a frosting, a mushroom buttercream would be decadent, but I'd worst comes to worst you could make a simple honey glaze for the cake. I hope you will be informing whomever eats this cake that it is laced, as there is a special realm of hell reserved for those who drug people without their knowledge. Good luck though!

Don't heat the honey. I don't definitively know if psilocybin breaks down at high temperatures, but heat is a known catylist for reactions and why take the risk if you don't have to.

I would also go for a mushroom-honey frosting if it were me baking the cake. Wouldn't risk the heat breaking the psilocin and plsilocybin down.

heat does something bad to psilocybin, i forgot what though, but definitely reduces potency... i would just use the honey as a topping to apply to the cake after it is baked.

also is the "surprise" that hes gonna eat shrooms without knowing? thats kinda fucked up

Yes "mushies" and products that have them in em do not respond well to heat at all. It's because psilocin is heat-sensitive and psilocybin is in an equilibrium with that so through passing through the state of psilocin it can degrade in the very same way.

Cannabis or more specifically it's oily extracted materials have more resistance to heat from my own and current understanding...

He knows i am going to make something with said honey he does not know that i am going to bake a cake. i thought i clarified it in an earlier post but i suppose not. before he eat the cake he is going to know but its still a surprise if he doesn't see it coming. considering i usually make candies and does not expect an excellent baked good. better?

thank you I knew that i should refrain from heating it up a lot considering when i make tea you do not want boiling hot water but i was unsure about how to go about it. looking into the frosting thing though ^_^

I usually make mushroom chocolates by heating the chocolate until it becomes liquid, letting it cool briefly, and then mixing powdered mushrooms into it. Then I put them in the freezer to make them hard and so that the mushrooms aren't stewing in heat too long. I think whatever heating method you use for cooking with mushrooms, it should be brief and followed immediately by rapid cooling in the freezer. You can let things become room temp later but the idea here is to preserve the mushrooms.

Weed is pretty resistant to heat so I wouldn't worry about it. As long as what you're baking stays under 130 degrees C (250 F) it will be better though. Keep in mind that vaporizors can go much higher than this, as can fire.

Next time you make this again do it like this for best results.

Make you weed cake to desired potency. cut into dose sized squares. Now take you desired amount of cracker dry shrooms and grind them to a very fine powder.
using a scale, weigh out eighth portions of the fungus. Obtain store bought frosting (or make your own canna frosting for extra kick but strawberry frosting is the tits ). In a shot glass or small bowl mix in an eighth amount with enough frosting to cover one of your weed cake slices. Repeat for the entire cake. Half will put you in space and a full will have you in the outer outer outer limits lol

This is time consuming but its nice to know that everything is evenly dosed. Plus the shrooms never come in contact with heat so there is minimal degradation.

Wrap individual cakes in tin foil and store in freezer till its time to embark.

I wouldn't put shrooms on a cake. When you want to eat them... you'll have to eat a whole cake, or at least a slice... that's gonna cause a lot slower absorption and a less intense peak.


Plus that's not going to last long at all... and you can't really just decide to do shrooms. Hell I've had an eighth sitting for like 3 months now and I'm still not gonna eat them for a while lol
