HELP! Spinal Injury and MDMA Question

Hey everyone! I've been a long-time reader here and need help regarding the hazards in taking MDMA while recovering from a car acccident. (Skip to bottom for question)

Background: About a month ago, I was in a car accident where I totaled my car into a wall. Third times the charm I guess. I was the only one in the car, and ended up fracturing my pelvis in the "lumbar region". I also fractured my tailbone as well.

Thankfully (and not a day goes by I am not completely grateful for this) I retained all of my motor function/feeling in my legs/lower-abdomen area, except for some nerve damage (related to fracturing my tailbone/lowest spine area) that makes my the bottom of my right foot feel numb and "on pins and needles". It also spasms throughout the day and night in clusters, and overall sore in general. I've been diagnosed as "non weight bearing" for 8 weeks, and as of today will start physical therapy for walking mid-November.

The numbness and spasms have greatly lessened from a month ago but it still remains. My fractures are nearly completely healed as well (my left has made more progress than my right). I've been diagnosed as "non weight bearing" for 8 weeks, and as of today will start physical therapy for walking mid-November.

My question is whether or not it is advisable to take MDMA. I am mostly concerned about the nerve damage to my right foot and whether or not it will affect it negatively. Thanks for help!

I highly doubt MDMA can cause direct damage to your peripheral nerves. However I would be concerned about MDMA (or any stimulant) causing your body to tense too much or you to move in a way that exacerbates your injury. Too many stimulants make you feel invincible and just want to move. You feel the pins and needles and spasms in your foot, but the physical nerve damage could be higher up along the nerve, so it's hard to say what movement could make it worse.

I've never had your feet symptoms, but I accidentally twisted my already injured lower back (gym injury) once while on MDMA. Didn't feel too badly at the time but for the next few days I was sore as fuck. Might be a good idea to put off any stimulating drugs until you're finished physiotherapy.

I think it depends on what you're planning to do during your roll. if you really want to roll your only option I think is to make sure you only move in ways your doctors told you are safe to do. Have a sober friend with you maybe that can keep an eye on you, so you don't lose sight of this because of the effects of the roll. If there is no brain injury involved whatsoever I don't think taking MDMA would in itself further damage your spine. Be sure to test your drugs as well. By the way this is advice should you decide you want to try it, ideally you should wait until you've fully recovered. Because you never know, there's always an aspect of unpredictability with drugs. Plus if you've fully recovered you won't have to worry about physical consequences

Never do any MDMA or other high depleting serotonin releaser if you have to recover! As a matter of fact serotin is important for healing. If you have less your body and your brain can't recover correctly. As somebody, who nearly got paralyzed from the neck downwards, I have to say: Focus on your rehab and let your fractures be healed. Before taking ecstasy you should have done some running or other activity based exercise that your body can comprehend the higher temperature and body activity. Good luck and take your time. It is better that way before you have to suffer even longer.
