I've been taking Paxil for about 7 years now, starting when I was quite young, so I've had periods of time where I've simply forgotten to take it for awhile and experienced withdrawal. I've also been successfully weaned off of the drug, but decided to continue it afterward. Anyway, what I'm trying to illustrate is that I am no stranger to Paxil withdrawal symptoms; they're horrible, awful, miserable, etc, etc.
My question is, how long after you begin the drug again do the withdrawal symptoms go away? Or at least get better? This is a unique situation, as most prescription drug circumstances are, and I know you're not all doctors and experts out there, but if my situation sounds somewhat familiar or you can shed some light on potential relief, please do! Here are the specifics:
Through my own irresponsibility and procrastination, I haven't taken my daily 10mg (much lower dose than I've been on in the past) of Paxil for the past 3 weeks, but since I'm very familiar with this drug, I knew that I could go about a week without it and feel absolutely fine. However, after about a week and a half, mild depression begins to set in, I experience more fatigue than the drug already causes, and my right hand will randomly go slightly numb for a few seconds.
These are all things I've learned about myself and how the drug affects ME. Unfortunately, when I began to notice symptoms of more severe withdrawal, various individual circumstances simply added up to the point where I had to wait a matter of days before finally getting my prescription (for those of you who have been through Paxil withdrawal, every single day is like the longest day ever).
So, long-story short, today is the first day that I have taken my 10mg dose of Paxil after about 3 weeks and I'd just really like to know if anyone can possibly give me an estimate of how long before my current withdrawal symptoms (fever accompanied by chills, hot flashes, CONSTANT nausea, fatigue, light-headedness, more severe depression, etc) go away or even subside just a LITTLE bit.
And if not, perhaps you'd be willing to give me some suggestions on how to mitigate the withdrawal in the meantime. I took a Motrin for the fever and felt much better, but this nausea is absolutely destroying me right now...
