Lolie
Bluelighter
Hey there Bluelight, it's been a while.
I'm after suggestions for obtaining help for someone in the Raleigh, NC area. He's currently experiencing a psychotic break and his parents are having no luck finding services which may be able to help the family handle this.
He's 19 (therefore it's difficult to arrange help without his consent), has been using weed and psychedelics full on for at least 6 months and is currently delusional, believing that he's going to be killed this weekend by assassins. The scary part is that he has no fear of this happening because he also believes that he'll transition to a higher plane when it does.
Not surprisingly, his family is deeply distressed as he's contacting them to say last goodbyes (he has actually given away most of his possessions, but is waiting for some event to kill him rather than actively suicidal).
His parents were able to get a welfare check done by police last night, but so far they're not having much luck finding appropriate mental health services. Because he's not verbalising any intention to harm himself or others, he's not psychotic "enough" for the police to intervene. Everyone is concerned that he'll intentionally provoke a fatal incident when no assassins turn up because he believes dying this weekend is his destiny.
Suggestions of who his parents can turn to for help would be much appreciated.
