Misc Help identify old tube of powder (possible dimedrol)

My cat found something interesting in the attic. It's an old chechoslovakian tube full of dimedrol. And I was wondering - is it a freebase or what? I need to know to judge the dosage right. Gonna post you some pics he took. The writing on the tube with pen is "dimedrol" (aka benadryl) and I'm 99% sure it is.

Probably from the 80'ties. It was stored in a dark, cool place and sealded well. And I've heard that drugs dont lose potency, as in 'exp date is a lie'.
 
Exp date isn't a lie. They do lose potency with age. Doesn't mean it won't do a thing but it will have lost SOME potency at least.
 
Think of any drug as a chemical compound... Chemical compounds undergo various spontaneous reactions. I'll give you a very simple example. A precipitate of bismuth (III) hydroxide loses water under heat and BiO(OH) is formed (as a precipitate too). They're easy to tell apart because BiO(OH) is yellowish and Bi(OH)3 is white.

Bi(OH)3 -----> BiO(OH) + H2O

Of course most of drugs aren't so unstable but with time they also undergo various reactions.

Well, you're the only person who can accurately tell what it is, because you can taste/use/snort the powder. We can't.
My guess is as good as anyone else's.

O ya, don't use SWIM/my cat/parrot. WTF is that shit?
 
I've had only experiences with dimedrol pills. And I really don't remember nor their taste, nor smell.
What I'm wondering about is If this powder isn't something more concentrated than a pill-form dimedrol, like, for example, what if it was 100x more potent. I don't want the hallucinations, I just want to use as sleep aid and maybe to potentiate codeine or something like that.

BTW, why is substance ID not allowed here? "Harm reduction"?
 
^ Because there's only a million websites for pill identification and there's no way we could even guess what you had by looking at some random white powder.

Why don't you go buy some Benadryl instead of trying some unknown powder?
 
I can't buy benadryl because here it's not a over the counter drug. Well, actually I'm pretty sure that's benadryl because that stash contained some powerful barbs and other nice stuff, but everything else in there (except the benadryl) were in much better condition package-wise so I could read what the hell it is and how much I should use.

Yeah, basically what I'm asking is If this benadryl can be, for example, 100x potent than the one in pills?
 
If you weigh it with a miligram scale, 25mg should be 25mg should be 25mg which is one dosage unit.

But yeah, we can't identify drugs through the computer screen.
