HELP EMERGENCY! can etizolam be used on dogs for muscle spassems instead of valium?

dogs back legs are spazzing and shaking hes in a lot of pain, gave him 5mg valium tablet oral will this be enough for relief? only other option is getting it put down. not going to give it etizolam now cause we found val. theres more valium here if thats not enough any one got any advice? on valium dosage for dog muscle spassems really mild seizures?

Can't you get him to a vet m8 ? You don't know how he will react to etiz, I mean sure they give dogs tramadol but that is only cos they know they won't have a bad reaction to it..

Hope he gets well soon, but stay calm and get a vet or get to one ASAP. :)
 
i got 5 mg valium into him hes a big dog very fat, is it safe to up it to 10mg total? its not etizolam we found some vals.
the dogs just about ready to be put down thats all the vet will do we know its back spine is fucked its on a steroid drug for it. i know vets give valium to dogs when they put them down so.
 
Get it put down then. (Don't attempt to do this yourself)

It's cruel to keep him alive.
 
its in a semi relaxed state its legs not moving it seems to be ok at the moment, not getting any worse. its not up to me as its my parents dog and we dont want to say good bye to this dog just yet. i just know that benzos are used for seizures and we have a few types. valium seems to be commonly used on dogs.
 
My 50 pound medium / large dog was prescribed 10 mg valium for anxiety when she started to need insulin shots. 10 mg made sleepy and out of it, her legs would give out from under her more often on this dose, and she would bang into everything. 10 mg was too potent for my big dog, 5-7.5 mg seemed to be much better.
Anyway, this is a sad post. I'm sorry about your parents dog. Diazipam could probably help your dog relax and not move or as much, and hopefully not cause itself as much pain, but I hope you do what you can to get the dog to a vet soon. If he needs to be put down maybe he could convince your parents of that, or at least prescribe him something that would help more with the pain.
