I am not sure where you are from, but do some research and find out if there are any syringe exchanges in your area. If so, HIT THAT MOTHERFUCKER UP! That way you will be able to get the proper syringes you should use, tourniquets, cookers, alcohol swabs. They also teach you safe techniques on shooting, have shit tons of pamphlets on IV and drugs. My exchange also offers HIV testing, counseling, and they even help you get into re-hab if you want. They are quite an amazing thing to have, and I cannot believe that people could be against having exchanges in their city. Stupid ignorant yuppies.

Groin injecting leads to serious problems.

Alright people? Right then,never been on here before and need some advice,if someone can point to right thread pls. Ive been injecting Heroin for for a few mths now,its getting harder to get myself in the arms,i dont want to go legs or feet,friends of mine go in the groin,i NEED to know the in and outs of this pls,my friends think they know it all,and frankly I dont trust them,what would happen if I hit the artery,capillaries etc?any help pls?

Sooner or later your veins will collapse through continual use. I injected in my groin, both sides, for many years. The golden rule is to check the colour of the blood as you draw back. If it is light in colour, eg, pink, don't inject it. If you do, the pain will be worse than you can imagine.
Another thing you wanna take into consideration also, is that by using your groin on a regular basis, you will most definately suffer for it when you get a bit older. You could even lose a leg, as quite a few junkies I've known over the years have, and thats through injecting in the groin.
For me, it has ruined my circulation to such an extent that I have massive vein ulcers that refuse to heal and the skin om my legs are almost black. It's called 'stasis dermatitis'. Look it up, look at the pictures it is horrible, looks like fuckin leprosy or something.
I'm in my 60s and been abusing myself for a long time so I know what I'm talking about. Do yourself a big favour and stop injecting now while you still can. Apart from all that, their is so much shit mixed in with powders that your body is incapable of breaking it all down so it causes all sorts of problems.
I could go on for ages but I don't wanna bore the shit outa yawll.
Just be careful and remember what I told ya, I swear it's all true. Wish I had my time over again.

if you hit an atarie it burns hot and cold at the sametime like pins and needles around the point of injection and in some cases follows the atarie down and burns for half a foot. Be clean about it, if the blood is dark your in the atarie if its light red go for it, so yous an empty needle to help track it before you go for the real thing unless you've got your own exray machine, every one is different regarding location but I would be more worryed about an over dose. once aday for all veins or your asking for it to become blocked. once you've got it once you should be alright but its playing with fire man, we can't do this shit when were fifty unless you've had a big brake were going to have to stop somtime. I continue because I'd kill very one who got me started. I'm just on the bup but I filter it by ataching it to a fan and let gravity make it100% clear then put it to a new fit but you can only do this for about five years same with every thing before you need a brake or you'll be fucked.

You've pretty much got all the good advice you're gonna get. The HANDS are you next best step, the veins are small and can roll like a fuckin soda can in the wind, but they're highly visible and pretty easy to hit. BUT like someone said, missing in the hands hurts like a bitch, the only thing i think that comes close is poking a nerve or missing in the foot.


Feet should be a third to last resort because of poor circulation and the possibility of bacterial infections.

Don't be tempted to inject in your groin, the risks far out weigh any benefits mate. You risk losing a limb and no buzz is worth that. Best thing is to start smoking your gear,its not as good but it's hell of a lot safer and leaves no track marks either.

I have been shooting H and various pills for years and I barely even have any noticeable scars let alone sunkin' veins. Always use a fresh needle. They are cheap! I still use the crooks of my arms no problem. Or the topside of my wrists if I'm in the mood. If you have to resort to your groin then you outta get some help. I know how that sounds sooo fuck me right? Just sprinkle the shit in your eye ball lol.

Once again, ive missed a few shots in my hands and it's not all that painful, so I don't know what the other posters are talking about. In fact one of the reasons I like the tops of the hands is the skin is tighter there, so it holds the needle in place better, which makes it harder to miss a shot (which usually happens from the needle slipping while you're injecting).

Anyway, as said you've heard all there is to hear and haven't replied in a while so everyone else should wait and see what he comes back with.

Oh and to anyone who has had the unfortunate experience, why does injecting into an artery hurt so much?

I Collapsed one time hitting my jugular and I barely got anything in. No feeling throughout my body for 10 min. Before that my face felt as If I had a stroke. My face collapsed and one size drooped. I've had friends die hitting the jugular. Think carefully and educate yourself first.
