Hey everyone, just joined the site but am familiar with it, as I have viewed posts here before. I am here for some help/info with the meds my dr has me curently taking. Started taking 10mg adderall over a year ago, now take 20mg twice a day, last month dr put me on Fluoxetine 20mg, Divalproex 500mg, Temezepam 30mg when needed for sleep and as of yesterday he prescribed me 90/1mg Xanax pills. He didnt say much about interactions with any of them, but at the pharmacy they said the Xanax had a interaction with the Fluoxetine. Has anybody taken the two together and what was the outcome? I have taken opiates for a few years but recently quit cold turkey (thank god) i was also curious if the Xanax will adapt to my body or will it continue to make me just want to sleep? Thanks for any feedback! Have a great day

Welcome to Bluelight!

Please keep in mind that alprazolam and temazepam are benzodiazepines; therefore, I suggest you only take one or the other, and not both, unless it's absolutely necessary to get to sleep.

Alprazolam is a better anti-anxiety drug (and best not to take it daily); temazepam is the best benzo for quality sleep.

Benzodiazepines and SSRI's (fluoxetine is an SSRI) should be an OK combination; just try to use the smallest dosage possible when it comes to benzos.

Hey there Jsb, you might find it helpful to read or post in Other Drugs. Please remember that the posters here do their best to assist with advice, but as it's impossible to know everything about your current situation you should always consult a medical professional before making changes to your dosage or choices of treatment.

Best of luck with it all. :)
