I just found this site a couple of days ago, but wish I would have sooner as it would have been helpful in many ways. I am just starting to experience life again after quitting the use of opiates, which were prescribed to me for lower back problems including a fracture and hurneated discs.

My use of opiates spanned over all of the last 8 years, starting with oxycodone and ending (hopefully) with Opana......a LOT of it. I jumped off of a monthly prescription of 300 Opana ER 40mg.

I have read all of the posts in the opiate section of The Dark Side since first lurking here on Friday, which was also my birthday. Thanks so much for all of the open and honest sharing of your experiences, and best of luck to all of you trying to kick this incredibly difficult habit.....and to everyone else of course!

Cheers!

Hi Johny, Happy late Birthday! I'm been off the oxys (also back trouble) for several months now. Was it hard coming off the Opana? ~theresa

Thanks for the warm welcome!

Coming off of it was no fun at all, I took Suboxone the initial week or so but didn't like it (probably a good thing). I was doing well and then found an old bottle with a bunch of Opana in it, and obviously had to go through all of those before quitting again. It's only been a week or so since then but seems to be going well......other than my back hurts:)
