Hey i am new here too...i have lurked for a long time and finally registered today. What do you wanna know exactly about femoral injecting? I speak from experience so let me tell you now, if there has been no pain you have not shot into the artery. Remember, if it's pink, stop and think!!! The blood from an artery is alot lighter than blood from a vein and can appear almost frothy sometimes. However if you do hit the artery and proceed to push any solution into it you will feel an instant shock of pain and burning and you will get a white kind of rash (alot like nettle rash) around the injection site. Your testicles will feel like they're on fire. I can assure you that you will NOT be able to finish injecting the whole solution.
I COULD BE WRONG however because maybe this depends on what exaclty has been iv'd? I am only talking in terms of Heroin and/or crack because as you probably know Heroin found in the UK needs an acid to make it soluble so maybe the acidity of the solution is what causes the pain and problems i describe. Maybe somebody else who has injected into the artery with a non-acidic solution could shed some light on this. I have hit arteries in both arms and both sides of my groin and each time have had a similar reaction but like i said this may be down to the acidity of the solution?
Either way iv'ing into the femoral artery is a very bad thing, infact so is doing it correctly into the vein!!! I was in hospital with DVT through a few years of shooting into my left side femoral vein many times a day and the doctor told me that if i had shot into the artery whilst in this state i could have caused a condition called trash foot. I have just googled trash foot and can't find much in relation to injecting but that's what i got told. Anyway, try to avoid femoral injecting full stop because it is dangerous. If you don't have many veins left then it is very appealing as it is quick and easy and you will never miss or ruin your shot if you know exactly what you're doing but it's not worth it. I have 3 holes, 1 left side and 2 right side from 5 years of femoral injecting. I am more than happy to take a pic for you should you want to see, especially if it would somehow deter you. If there is currently no pain and no swelling of the leg then you are fine, keep it that way.
