I’m a little over 40 and about four years ago I threw my back out and I’ve been in moderate to severe pain on varying amounts of oxy since then. I’ve had just about every pain control procedure you can imagine. Nerve blocks, epidurals, SA and steroid injections and PT (which made it worse). My doctor wanted me to try a spinal cord stimulator but my insurance (who is also my employer -awkward- won’t approve it because I haven’t had a previously failed back surgery. New surgeon wants updated imaging and of course they denied the prior auths in December after I had already met my out of pocket max.

They are happy to throw 120 10/325mg oxies at me a month but I’ve already started hitting a tolerance at this dose. Now I take 20mg in the morning around 6:30am and another 20mg at 6:30pm with a baclofen and a Lunesta (with the occasional few ounces of whiskey if I really want to sleep.

I don’t get tested back to back months so on the weeks after my piss test I usually consume a few 100mg of indica gummies at weekend.

Hey there and welcome to blueworld

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Can't the doc up the dose or maybe add Lyrica.

Hope you come right?

DON'T do the simulator I've heard real horror stories of sudden SHOCKS of pain from it... from A LOT of sources.

I'm in your same boat chronic pain with severe debilitating pain. I've done every procedure and tried everything they've thrown at me and i really think maybe a pain pump so i can get more meds stronger meds directly to the area that hurt. they can give less meds to the whole body but more RIGHT TO THAT SPOT. I'M REALLY DESPERATE
