Not Reaaally a newbie to this site just never registered. But anyway, I'm a 30 y/o f and I've been on opioids for about 5 years. I do have some pretty significant pain in my back from compressed discs to bone spurs and pinched nerve but that's not where it started. Actually I had a stash of meds I got from docs here and there over a few years and never really took them but figured I may need there some day or from time to time with my back. BAD IDEA NUMBER ONE. Ive dealt with crushing depression and anxiety my whole life and at the time I just needed to be calm so I took half a Norco 5 (😂😂😂 thinking back that's funny) and it lifted my mood and made me less anxious. And now I take them Pretty much everyday.

Oh and I'm a nurse 🤭 from Oklahoma, USA

I've heard of programs just for nurses who have mental illness and or drug problems. It's actually a thing here, not sure about Oklahoma. Have you heard of these programs?

Regardless, you may want to check out Mental Health.

But if you don't want help with your usage, that's totally cool, and you can use Bluelight to just vent or what ever you'd like.

See you around, and welcome to Bluelight @NurseNods :)
