Misc Heavy dxm trip be careful

So i did what i thought to be a good amount of research before taking my 360mg dose of DXM (pills). All I ever saw in warnings was to stay away from any dxm mixed with acetaminophen, so i thought i was good to go knowing that the pills i had didn't contain acetaminophen. So after a couple bowls and a beer i decided to take the 18 pills (20mg DXM , 400mg guaifenesin). So about 45 minutes after taking them im starting to feel little affects of tripping and so i decide to go browse the internet and watch some led light shows and such. About 25 more minutes pass and i don't feel and diffrent but the mild affects so i stand up only to realize that i have absoloutly no sense of coordination or balance which i read was normal for that dosage of dxm but then started a massive pain in my stomach just turning and aching absoloutly terribly. So after about 45 minutes of laying down and enjoying some cev's i go try to eat a slice of pizza only to have every bite a take a feeling terrible stomach pains so i manage to eat around half of the slice of pizza and decide to go lay back down with these crazy stomach pains. So after 20 mins or so i feel as though im better once again and decide to go back to the light shows well not long after something really hit me and the vomiting started from the insanely high dose of guaifenesin (7200mg) after the vomiting i was able to enjoy the un-pleasant trip a little more with some visuals and music.

But moral of the story being do as much research as humanly possible before taking a substance. I don't know how i could of not clicked on a site saying that dxm mixed with guaifenesin is a very bad combination, but you can NEVER do enough research on the chemical you are taking.

After the trip i realized just how much guaifenesin i took and how lucky i was to vomit for really short time (5 mins at most) I've read stories on how some people taking less than 1000 mg of guiaifenesin is fatal and lands some people in the hospital due to seizures and uncontrollable vomiting.

So moral of my bad trip is to be as educated as you can be and always take pure dxm
 
So you learnt the hard way to only take pure DXM products which is actually the main thing on every harm reduction site.
And you should definitely have made an allergy test since some people are enzyme deficient and react very sensitive to DXM!

But good that nothing really bad happened. Let it be a good lesson and do more research next time :)
 
yeah man every harm reduction post on here says to take DXM only products. BTW ive takin double that in guaf and never puke lol idk why. i think the actually dxm makes my stomach hurt worse.
 
i must be lucky cuz i washed down a couple boxes of coricidin with a bottle of delsym every other day for a few months to try to cope with a growing tar heroin habbit and i got reletivwly few problems with it, my more pressing issues at the time diverted my attention too so who knows, but i ended up with a dual heroin/dxm habbit that created wicked bad w/ds unlike any i have experienced with heroin and benzos, it was like a methadone kick with heroin leg "kicks" as well, it was hell! since then i have resolved to stay on pot/methadone for life but thats it!! sorry..i digress...anyway i am hoping massive doses of this type of stuff wont create later...long term issues, i am already a hep cat:\.
 
Is drinking the syrup really that bad of a taste ? I down the pills just for the reason i thought it would be easier but now i see more syrups are dxm only than pills or caps.
 
Wow, didn't think there were people still who don't know to take dxm only products.
 
you should of done an extraction out of syrup.
Mix same amount ammonia (you can buy it from grocery stores) with cough syrup in a double bagged ziplock bag, then add naptha (10%-13% of your ammonia + dxm syrup solution) shake well for 5 - 10 minutes. Hang ziplock bags in a diamond shaped way and let the syrup ammonia & guaf separate from the dxm filled naptha. This method will only extract the alkaloids from the solution, guaf is not an alkaloid therefore it will drain with the rest of the gunk. When the layers separate you want to snip a little hole at the bottom of your diamond and drain the syrup ammonia & guaf (bottom layer) and throw it out. (let a bit of dry naptha leak out to make sure you only get the volatile naptha phase without any ammonia). Let the naptha dry and collect dxm freebase crystals which you can put in a cap or mix with citric acid (also easy t find in supermarkets) to get dextromethorphan citrate.
it only takes a couple of hours & it beats chugging nasty crap & fucking up your kidneys

Was my first real trip on dxm tried like 100mg a couple days prior and had no problems
 
Hey man, you can get DXM only containing pills, go for the gel caps. They only have 15 mgs per pop so you have to take alot of them though, all that gelatin is nasty. I've recently taken to buying the cvs brand dxm only containing cough syrup (Adult Cough hahaha), it's 8.50 for 710 or so mg's, at 4.25 a solid second plateau trip you can't beat that. DXM is a sweet drug, ignore the haters, just (again, I know, sorry) make sure to get the DXM only containing stuff, and stagger the dose over the period of half an hour to 45 minutes to avoid the naseua.

You can also avoid the unpleasantness of the "robo-itch" by taking a little bit of an antihistamine (very very important that it's not a non-drowsy one though) like Benadryl 30 minutes before starting to consume the DXM. Hope you have happy future trips!

Woah man. First off, you definitely don't want to take a 'non-drowsy' antihistamine with DXM, that is a very dangerous combo. Furthermore, Benadryl is a 'very drowsy' antihistamine. But yeah, store brand DXM only syrups are the best, the gel caps are hard to swallow and make you a lot more nauseas due to inactive ingredients. Moreso than syrup, ironically.

I can only recommend this being that I am one of those people, last time I took 300mg, it had me tripping for literally a day, and it was nearly a fourth plateau, so I'd just like to say that you should be careful and read up on whatever you want to try as much as possible. Thankfully I tried a dose of 50mg before taking the higher dose otherwise I would've been literally dying with the regular dosage people usually take for a third plateau.
 
high doses of guaifenesin can cause bleeding through the skin it happened to me luckily a cold shower stoped the bleeding and no it wasn't a hallucination there was blood on my washcloth the day after and i did some research online and found a couple of reports of the same thing happening to other people so be smart if your gonna take DXM just take DXM nothing else
 
Haha no problem man. It's interesting to hear that about guaifenesin, I was under the impression that it's only real negative side effect at high doses was nausea. I actually have heard from quite a few people saying they take stuff with guaifenesin in it because it's cost effective if one can stomach it, this one kid was even saying he was taking 4th plateau doses. Shows what I know, what the fuck, bleeding through your skin? That's terrifying man, if that's really a possibility I need to get the word out on that one.
