Stimulants Heart and breathing rate

Hey

Under normal conditions, one's breathing rate is directly proportional to one's heart rate (approximately). When stimulants like speed raise one's heart rate, does the breathing rate increase too?

I had a meth overdose 1,5 weeks ago and whilst I now feel good, my heart rate hasn't completely normalized - it's normal when resting but gets unnaturally high when doing something. Like, I calmly walk around in my home and it's 120. My breathing rate however remains normal, it doesn't increase much. I'm wondering if this is similar to the stimulant induced increase in heart rate? Does it come with or without increase in breathing rate? I have not enough experience with stims to recall this and I will not do them anymore, they are clearly not for me.

Why am I asking this? I have other symptoms that indicate that I am sometimes naturally in a overly stimulated state. I sweat, can't sleep and have an urge to move my body parts. I'm trying to understand how does my heart rate fit into this. Thanks!

is it possible that its anxiety? either as a side effect of the meth overdose or self-enforced ie. because your worried that your heartbeats increasing, it does increase and so on in that sort of cycle. either way, if you have concerns about your heartrate then you should see your doctor.
as to your original question, as far as i know respiration rate should increase a with your heartrate. The heart is a muscle like any other and requires oxygenated blood like any other. The harder it works and the more oxygenated blood it requires.

Can't be anxiety, I had panic attacks in the hospital but learned to control myself and I've been mister calm for many days now. I've learnt to check heart rate without getting any anxiety even if it's high. If it's high I can decrease it by slow, deep breathing so I do not panic but instead I am able to cope with it perfectly calmly.

I gotta monitor that respiration rate. Not sure what's going on.

I may see a doctor sometimes soon. Thanks for the answers, I might make a whole thread here about my overdose and the complications, maybe someone has had the same stuff.
