I Know, its strange what Im hearing in my Right ear and no, I am not on any Psychedelics. I can constantly hear the whoosh of my pulse flooding my ear and its not tinnitus or the like nor is the sound you can hear through the stethoscope when taking a BP and the sound changes "sometimes" if I change the position of my head, its so annoying! is this a side effect of drug taking, or am I going crazy because the doctors don't seem to know what this is either?

What other symptoms are you experiencing OP? Is your hearing decreasing? Is there pressure in the ear? What drugs are you taking or did you take?

I'm assuming they've ruled out any kind of waxy build up in the ear? Low grade inflammation can cause you to hear your heartbeat in your own ear too.

There's also such a thing as tinnitus caused by blood pressure that is too low. In eastern medicine we treat this with various formulae which contain ginseng. Low blood pressure tinnitus sounds like water whooshing through the ear, while high blood pressure tinnitus sounds like a higher pitched ring.

Sometimes though, low-grade tinnitus is a result of poor micro-circulation in the ear. You can try putting garlic and cayenne oil in the ear, but do a very small amount because together they will be strong. They'll increase the circulation to that region of your head.

Great information as always Foreigner!

I have also read about pulsating tinnitus OP, if you haven't taken a look at this kind of condition maybe you would like to read the info and see if this makes sense to you.

What drugs do you take? It could be a side effect.
I've experienced tinnitus from CNS depressants myself.

I get that occassionally, but only lasts for a few hours then disappears. Mine seems to come when Im stressed.
