Opioids Hearing loss associated with opiate use

hahah yes CH. I was just trying to shed some pharmaceutical light on the subject but people don't tend to read my posts.... :(

i do:(

those of us who read your posts know what's up man.

some people take anecdotal evidence as gospel; the be all and end all because if it's happened to one person, it must be true!

people choose to disregard researching factual information, because using dictionaries to understand those big words is too far out of their way and takes up too much time, and reading journals because by reading a few posts on BL is much simpler, it must be true!

It's just so frustrating when you write a post about something you studied and lay it all out there. Not that the chances of hearing loss from it are high, but then no one reads it and just says blah blah I heard this, this happened to me blah blah blah.... whatever.. hahah not a big deal

i understand man, but don't let it deter you:) you're a respected member around here, it's those who choose to ignore are the ones losing out.

now what did you say again?;)

I was thinking of a way how opiates could impair hearing, and I thought of K+ hyperpolarization .
I am willing to start a study on that topic since that story:
http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=767305

Hyperkalemia increasing hearing loss to already impaired hearing made me thought of the role of potassium channels playing in hearing, and opiates are increasing post synaptic K+,IPSP currents and decreasing pre-synaptic Ca2+ .

codeinics such as vicodin or oxycodone are leading the way, so I think it might be codeinic related other than strictly opiate related.
