Healthy Escapism; what are you reading?

Yeh don't have to go writing a 10k word thesis on a book.... Just a short synopsis.
:)

Freedom by Jonathan Franzen

I wish I knew how to paste book covers but I don't!

How is this so far? I liked Corrections. kinda.

I'm working on Le Carre's Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy. I wish I had the ambition and commitment to tackle Atlas Shrugged...just seems way too long for me...why not read three good shorter books in the same amount of time?

It's good. And I know that I'm gonna be slayed for this, but, on a reread, I thought Atlas Shrugged was just ok.

I'm reading Freedom by Franzen as well. Recently read The Bluest Eye by Toni Morisson (I think that's her name), I can highly recommend that, even though the very grim story can be hard to read.

Can't really judge Freedom yet, as I've only read about half.

BTW. Anyone else reading on the Kindle? I bought the 3rd generation just recently and I absolutely love it. So smart and almost pocketable.

im reading tristessa by jack kerouac (a great read for any opiate user) i wanted junkie by burroughs but couldnt get it fast enough (althoug he does make a cameo in this book) and im also reading life of pi. life of pi really isnt my cup of tea it was a suggestion by someone else. also i have another short kerouac book lined up after this one finishes.

Missykins - Freedom is next on my list!

I recently finished reading The Story of Forgetting by Stefan Merrill Block. Depressing, but a beautiful story.
