Health Canada rejects B.C. opioid compassion club due to dark web purchase plan​

Health Canada has rejected an application from a Vancouver-based harm-reduction group to create the first compassion club in North America to give members access to prescription heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine.

The Drug Users Liberation Front requested an exemption from the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act that would have allowed them to give away illicit drugs — purchased from the dark web — to individuals at high risk of overdose in the Downtown Eastside.

Health Canada said in a letter to the group that it could not approve the exemption because it would “allow the purchase of illegally produced controlled substances from illegal vendors on dark web markets. Supplying drugs from the dark web is not a viable option for advancing the objectives of the (Act), namely the protection of public health and the maintenance of public safety.”

The group responded that their request had the support of Vancouver Coastal Health, the First Nations Health Authority, the City of Vancouver, Portland Hotel Society, and the B.C. Centre on Substance Use.

Despite this not going through, Canada is so much more progressive when it comes to drugs than the US. If their gun laws and freedom of speech laws weren't so wack i'd be over there in an instant.
 
Knew it was this group as soon as I read the title.

No shit they were rejected. You have to follow health guidelines and darkweb is definitely not following no matter what the source.
