I've been maintaining on bupe through a friend and have been trying so hard to get inducted into a methadone or suboxone and no matter who I call I get turned down. Out of foolishness when I was kicking/kicked heroin a year ago I started taking clonazpam. I also get these from a friend who is RXed..

I fucked any possibilities of getting on a legitimate clinic because of taking these benzos for anxiety.

If anyone can give me any suggestions or help I would greatly appreciate it. I can't keep doing this shit

IMO, if it were me, I would try to stay on the buprenorphine long enough to taper yourself off of the clonazepam until you can go without the clonazepam and then get into some kind of buprenorphine maintenance program, I recommend buprenorphine over methadone because I have been maintained on both and methadone is the worst maintenance program that's ever existed. Again, this is just my personal experience, if you truly believe that a methadone maintenance program would be your best option, by all means go for it. Also, if possible, under no circumstances should you try to cold turkey clonazepam/any benzodiazepine. I was horribly addicted to heroin and benzodiazepines (1-2 grams of heroin and I worked my way up to being able to take 60mg+ of xanax at once along with a good shot of heroin, usually I wouldn't take so much xanax with my heroin due to the fact that I could only get so much, but when I would get a script of xanax, the whole bottle would immediately be dumped into my mouth followed by a shot of heroin, and I did OD once from doing this. (I know this is hard to believe but it's true)).. I tried to quit cold turkey and it was absolute HELL, I had 5 seizures in one month due to the benzodiazepine withdrawal.

So try to taper the clonazepam slowly and stay on the buprenorphine while tapering off of the clonazepam the whole time if possible.

Again, this is my own personal opinion and experience, yours may vary.

Good luck and I hope this helped..

Sincerely, Animoe

I wouldnt say shit about benzos unless they UA you. Cross that bridge when you get there. A lot of clinics will also help detox you from the klonopins with something like phenobarbital, mine does. If you are getting the subs off the street then technically you are still using street opiates. What state do you live in? Im guessing ur in the us? But im sure you can get into a clinic if you play your cards right. Normally i would say dont lie about that kind of stuff bc not only can it adversely effect your treatment, it can hurt others as well bc drs are always looking to shut out a dishonest person from treatment bc its seen as a huge liability plus it could make the dr less believeing of others. Did you try the samsha locator thing to find a bupe dr?

I've called so many different bupe/ methadone clinics and everyone has something rude to say when I ask if I can get a taper program so I can just be on opioid maintenence. This fucking sucks it's hard for me to taper with no guidance or help especially when my work consists of dealing with customers constantly.

So fucking frustrating I'm never going to get this worked out I feel like. I wish I never started taking klonopin now it's holding me back from everything I'm working for

What exactly do they say to you? This might not be the best suggestion but maybe do dope for a few days and don't take anything else. Then physically GO to a methadone clinic and tell them that you are just addicted to heroin and heroin only...they will probably let you in a lot easier if you just have heroin in your system. I've never had a problem getting into a clinic and I've been on 4 different programs in the last 8 years.

I have an idea that has worked for me before, stop taking the buprenorphine and benzodiazepines just long enough for withdrawals to start, go to an ER, tell them you want to get clean, and they will have you talk to a crisis worker while you're there and tell them you want to go to a detox center and they can/will get you in... I've done it multiple times, probably about 9 or 10 times. I think this would be the smartest option if you're willing to try..

This is just my opinion and experience, so use your best judgement as to whether this would be a viable option or not.
That's just my 2cents.

I wish you all the best, Sincerely, Animoe.

I just want to do whatever it takes so I can legally be on maintenence. I work about 30 hours+ a week and don't want to lose my job as it is my only income. But it doesnt seem possible having to kick the benzos. I have about 55 1mg tablets I'm about to just drop to .5 today.

I'm sick and tired of juggling two habits on the street and just want to deal with opiate maintenence right now. Basically everytime I call a bupe or methadone clinic I just get a rude response 'we don't allow the use of benzodiazepines ' .

I just don't understand I know people have to be in the same position as mine but fuck, I'm begging for help and I don't know what to do anymore

Thanks a lot for the replies everyone

Most suboxone doctors are also psychiatrists who can/are willing to prescribe meds for dual diagnosis (in your case anxiety) as well as for addiction. If I were you I'd google every suboxone doc in your area, call them and tell them your situation, you've been on subs and want to get them legitimately and that you've been self medicating your anxiety with clonzepam. There are private pay sub docs that aren't really clinics, I would think those would at least help you taper off the benzos, if not just write you a script.

Yeah I would defiantly go to a doctor and tell him/her exactly what's goin on and what you've been doing and that you just want to get clean.
That seems like the best option IMO.

Good luck, Sincerely, Animoe.

At my clinic the doc hates benzos and won't tolerate you taking them. I've had dirty UA's a few times with benzos but have since learned my lesson. The sub clinic is especially worried about people dying from mixing bupe and benzos, so they probably will not tolerate you being on them. But, if I were you, I'd get inducted into a program and try and taper off benzos. They will most likely help you do that.

You can't continuously fail drug tests if you are on maintence for benzos, especially methadone. I was legitimately prescribed benzos, but did not want my parents/doctor to find out because I was afraid of losing my script, so I lied to the methadone clinic until they almost kicked me out for failing benzos.

It took me a solid two months to be accepted into the methadone clinic due to a waiting list. I suggest adding your name to waiting lists to every place that you possibly call.

I'd strongly advise you to go onto bupe instead of methadone.

I just wanted to share my recent experience with suddenly running out of my benzo, Alprazolam, for approximately 12 days. I'd run out early in the past, but only by a few days. I definitely went through some withdrawal symptoms ( throat felt tight, clenching jaws, and unable to sleep.. also myself unable to take my ADHD medication).
This most recent experience was so much worse. On top of being severely sleep deprived and paranoid, I found myself unable to speak properly. I would get my words mixed up. Sometimes I noticed and sometimes I didn't, but I was always concerned about whether or not I had made any mistakes. Soon it got to the point where I would replace words I meant to say with completely unrelated words.
For example, when the speech problems first started, instead of saying "fireworks" I would say "work fires". Soon after this began, I remember a specific incident that was horrible because it was while I was talking to my daughter. I was trying to tell her to go over to the sink and wash her hands... Instead, I told her to go over to the fence and wash her socks.
It was really really scary. I don't know what was going to happen to me next, but it wasn't going to be good. My prescription was available to be picked up the day after that happened, thank goodness.
I have always heard that benzos are very dangerous to stop cold turkey but I had never experienced anything remotely close to what I did this time.
I think I rambled a little bit and I apologize for that. I wonder if anyone else has been through anything similar to this?

I've done this when I've had no direction to turn to. Any ER will recommend a treatment center for you to go to and give you information/or set you up directly with the facility. I regret ever getting on methadone maintenance, but there are quite a few patients at the clinic I go to that are prescribed benzo's and are NOT kicked out for whatever reason. So it may be circumstantial. Also what deidara said about a private sub doctor, or even pain management.
