i think it'd be pretty sweet to have a hand held portable vaporizer-type smoking device... it'd never be able replace the actual experience of smoking, but it does look like it would have its benefits.

i don't think those will ever be mass-marketed, but i bet there's some genius pothead somewhere that's already managed to make a handheld vape.

Theres already a few handheld portable vapes on the market. Ones from ireland called the i-inhale (300somethin bux)
Then theres the blissville magic flight (88 bux) both run off batteries and each work differently. I'd go with the magic flight, looks quite steampunk style to me:)
 
i saw these things in europe 4 years ago, in a country notorious for having among the highest instances per capita of lung cancer in the world. yet, smoking hasn't lost an ounce of popularity so i guess this must be more of a fad than a solution. i don't expect handheld vapes would do much either, since a lightbulb is shite compared to a bag of herbalaire/volcano vapour
 
That's a Silver Surver Vape, unless you're talking about the thing they got busted with to begin with?

As it stands, I'd love to quit smoking tobacco. I really need to.

I even own a Volcano...
