Okay fellow BL'ers I have a few questions I am hoping to get answered but unfortunately I don't have much info :(...
I have been a regular MJ user (anywhere from 1-6 times daily) for the past 4 years. I have smoked hash on a few occasions over the past few years but have never known the type or potency etc and unfortunately the only previous times I have smoked it I was quite drunk and do not remember the differences between smoking the hash as compared to smoking straight pot (your standard dank).
Well I got lucky and recently scored a gram brick of hash. It is very dark but not like a straight black. The brick is pretty solid, however at the same time it can be rolled into balls when using a little bit of finger manipulation. It smells pretty much just like good bud, just amplified somewhat. When smoked it does take a few seconds for it to light or cherry (un-grinded that is) and usually the "greens" hit will just cause it to kinda sizzle for a second or two.

Based off the VERY vague description does anyone have a guesstimation of what kind of hash it may be? I live in the southern states. I did smoke a little last night, and despite having taken my standard recreational dose of hydrocodone (50mg about 3-3.5 hrs before smoking)that I treat myself to once every few weeks, the hash high seemed very intense in both indica and sativa.
 
Hash is awesome, I see it like, instead of 50/50 indica:sativa it's like.. 100/100 indica:satica making it this time bending 200% goodness.

OT - i have no clue what kind of hash it is, but i am pretty jealous that you managed to score some.
 
haha yeah I like the 100/100 indica sativa outlook bud =]!
But oh yes I am very happy I was able to score some, not the most common thing to come around down here!
 
described as kinda low end hash. Blonde hash is among the best. The darker colors come from plant material & other impurities. I had a nice gram of import that was really old & hard i found floating around on the East coast.. It was a disgrace compared 2 the dry sift & bubble hash id been seeing but when not use to it the user got a noddy dreamy kinda indica punch. Too bad the Po-9 stole it along with my <3 =..

Fuck man I feel for ya. I leave my wonderful pot loving hometown for school about 1.5 hours away and the po took my shit.
Haha funny thing was.... Just had finished hot boxin 2 bowls from my bong 3 mins before getting pulled over, and the gayshit fuzz said nothingggg about pot when it wreaked of it, and said he smelled alcohol coming from the vehicle (there was no alcohol in the car or in me/the passenger.
 
we cannot tell other than that by decription it was a rolled(produced by rolling the trichromes together either by hand or machine) kind of dark hash as opposed to when they filter the buds through linnen(whatever filter they use) ala double zero then press it like slabs of slate and it looks like sand.

so its not slate, its dark and its malleable and smell of bud. possibly some indian type like mannali or charass or something from that area. to be honest though this is a guess. you should be able to guess approximately from the high and smell. does it taste creamy or tangy to smoke (even soapbar from the indian subcontinent tatses creamy and feels very relaxing in your belly). the proof is in the pudding it into your lungs via smokage...

as for the above comment about has being good... maybe in america where it is guaranteed to be high end to be worth selling but in europe soapbar rules the masses and can range from morrocan (disgusting and if high quality not really a great high-bit bland and boring) to really cheap indian 9bars that can be cut with a hot knife and sold cheap and an ounce could give you three weeks worth of non-stop stonage. puum tings
 
pofacedhoe, can you help me with a description of my hash? It looked lightbrown at first, then I set it on the table and it fell apart somewhat, on the inside it is sort of yellow with a tint of brown, it crumbled in my hand with little effort. Smoke was fabulous, highest than I've ever been since the first time I smoked a quarter in one sesh, quite a long time ago. But then I got slowly used to the amazing high.

That was my first time getting hash, now my second time- It's like the OP described

Third time, and last time I've had hash =( It was supposedly "jack daniels hash" but that didn't make butt-fuck sence to me so I just ignored it and got it cause I wanted hash. It was sort of inbetween in color of the first and second, it didn't crumble but I could take chunks of it off easily that I could roll pretty easily into little balls for hotknives.
 
I've been smoking weed/hash for 10+ years, so my credibility is here (no ego).

When smoking hash, don't ignite it. Hold the lighter far enough so you don't burn it, but close enough so it "bubbles".

The best utensil for has smoking (actually vaporizing), is hash dome. They're explained on toke city with pictures.
 
TEST 1: Without wanting to insult anyone's intelligence cannabis should smell like cannabis. If it doesn't it is of low quality, very old or it is simply something else. The aroma should be fresh and spicy, not stale or musty.

TEST 2: Good hashish is solid, dense stuff. Dropped onto a hard surfaced (glass or metal) you should hear a hard 'tick' rather than a dull 'thud'. Watch it doesn't roll under the sofa or land in your beer.

TEST 3: Hashish that feels soft and 'squidgy' at room temperature may be adulterated with oil or fat and is best avoided. When cool, good hashish should feel firm and slightly tacky to the touch. Cutting with a sharp blade should leave a smooth, hard edge.

TEST 4: After some vigorous warming in your hand, good hashish will be transformed: its aroma will increase and it will become pliable. With a little heat, you should be able to mould pieces of top quality hashish into any shape you like and blend together seperate pieces. If hash remains hard or brittle after being warmed, then the resin content is low.

TEST 5: Hasish will catch and then burn in a similar way to an inscense stick. If a piece lights immediately and burns readily, it could be adulterated with oils or candle wax. If it continually goes out, the hash probably contains little resin or has been sitting in somones cellar for far too long. Good hash is reluctantant to take a flame, but will burn with a steady ember once lit. After burning, quality hash will leave nothing more than a soft, pale ash. Hash that leaves a dar, gritty residue should arouse suspicion.

How dank is your hash?
 
There are many different types of hash and many conflicting reports of what is considered "good".

Some, like skoat, claim hard is good while others claim THC is an oil and the more THC the more pliable and gooey the hash is. For exapmple: good hash oil is like honey in consistency and has one of the highest % of THC.

It is a little confusing to say the least.

The only way to REALLY know for sure is to smoke it.
