on the fourth of july two of my buddys were pulled over on there way to a socal beach (twice actually) dumb ass's. they both recently obtained there medical marijuana cards but were still given tickets for possession and had there weed confiscated.

has anybody else had this happen to them or did you have better luck?

I don't even live in CA but doesn't this just seem counterproductive? It's like taking a pain patient's OC's away even if they have it in the prescription bottle..

Damn pigs, always get their way.. :P

I mean, if they were acting irresponsibly, then I understand somewhat. Don't act like an idiot with it if you have it. It's the same as abusing pain killers. Just because you have a condition, it doesn't mean you should get away with doing something stupid if you get caught.

If that isn't the case, however, then that's fucked up.

Its actually nothing like taking a perscription away. Federal law says marijuana is illegal but state law says its not. Its a toughy i agree and i think the cops could go either way. Side with the feds and bust balls or do nothing and not be concerned with not taking your drugs.

OCs are legal both federally and state wise if you have a script.

Next time be more careful.

Even with a card, you can't smoke and drive or drive high. That is reason enough for the ticket or confiscation.

Correct me if I am wrong.

If your smoking then you could still get a DUI but it seems weird that they would give you a ticket for possession. I wonder if it would hold up in court.

they were pulled over both times for minor traffic offenses, nothing to do with cannabis. im assuming the police officer smelled it in the car or something. regardless state law (police officer's) are not supposed to confiscate medical marijuana just for possession alone.

also in most counties in CA you are aloud to transport up to a half pound of herb in your car as long as your not smoking or driving under the influence. :)

basically it comes down to what kind of person the police officer is. some are open minded and will check out your card and send you on your way, others are stubborn and dont believe that cannabis should ever be legal. therefore they write tickets just so patients have to show up in court and prove there innocents.

i have only heard of one person being pulled over with a car full of grow supply's, clones, herb and was let go scotch free.

My guess is it's because they were driving. That and maybe the cops just wanted the weed.
