For example, through BL and similar sites it is not difficult to get sources for opiates, cocaine, psychedelic RCs of all descriptions, etc. Sooner or later this is going to be a big issue and there will be a major national crackdown. Large-scale drug sniffing operations in both the USPS and private carriers are probably just a couple of years over the horizon; the technology is already there (forget dogs, machines are surpassing them), and all that's lacking is the political will. As soon as "KIDS ARE BUYING DRUGS ON THE INTERNET" stories start appearing everywhere, politicians will take notice. This is the golden age, and it won't last long.
Heh -- our local news had a big "expose" the other day that you can buy glass smoking pipes in convenience stores downtown. I LOL'd.
Drugs are not going away, EVER, as long as there is a market for them. And the harder it is to sell them the more profitable it is for the police/politicians to take bribes to facilate the ease of selling them.
If 5% of the US population either regularly or occasionally wanted to buy hand grenatdes or rocket launchers (and had the money to afford the price it cost to make the delivery/sale) then there would be many, many people in the business of transporting hand grenades and rocket launchers to american citizens. Economics. Plain and simple. The law of price and demand.
And if coke and heroin is by some miraculous means eradicated, the meth dealers are going to be cheering and jumping for joy. We will also begin to enter the age of hydroponic cocaine and herion production in the usa as well.
Drugs, like alcohol, are hear to stay.
