Drug wise, my life has "improved since I ve moved to Brazil and started buying my opis from legit pharmacies rather thn from sketchy guys in a corner. In Italy and UK, I use to smoke smack and man, I was useless; with oxys and morphine I m functional, I used to go to the gym, giving classes etc.
The main problem is that with oxys my tolerance skyrocketed, to the point that I ve stopped because I needed 300mgs to feel ok.
still, I think that lots of shit surrounding the world of "hard drugs" comes from having access to substances that, even if are high quality, have been produced in the loo of a freaking Taliban or in the middle of a jungle. I wonder how the "pharma version ! differs, give me a dream.....

Also in Switzerland afaik. Dunno if I ld qualify as I sniff or smoke but man I ld love to try...in the UK they used to prescribe cocaine as well

Bck when i first got trigeminal neuralgia my foctor who was British was going to put me on diamorphine but it had sadly been taken off the market. So i got dilaudid instead. That would have been some bragging rights getting pharma heroin though

My sister at UC Berkeley had a roommate who’s father was a MD and was one of very few that was authorized to obtain cocaine ( not all doctors could do this they needed a special type of credential). The roommate I guess took it from his father. It came in a white plastic bottle with a label on it. It was powdered and very mild when snorted. The thing I remember most about it was the very appealing medicinal smell of it, other than that it wasn’t that special.

First of all, you re my hero. Second, was it one of your first experience? btw coke is supposed to be "mild" in a way and I guess that if the Rolling Stones were using it in the 70´s , was not THAT mild, th best I had down here in South America had a somewhat "calming" effect that I ve never found in any other stims ( that s why blow is the only stim I do, and only here)

Opium is really not a South American thing, alas, they ve tried to plnt it in Colombia but the results were kinda meh. I should fucking plant my own, the average Brazilian police men has probably never heard or cred about poppy fields anyway....

Thing is, me and my wife managed to even kill a CACTUS and...we have cats, she hs read that poppy could affect them. But with all the crazy shit that goes around here imagine if they were giving tw shites bout a gringo and his exotic garden....

Still common practice in Switzerland, depending on the age of who you ask diamorphine maintenance is typically referred to as either the British or Swiss model. I'm sure a lot of it is political but it seems like one of the biggest reasons the practice fell out of favour in the UK is simply that it costs the NHS a lot more than methadone

Wild huh, and the cocaine thing went even further than that, they manage to convince the entire country that cocaine literally gave African Americans uncontrollable rage and superhuman strength, but they even equipped law enforcement with new higher caliber bullets because it was believed that the standard issue would not be sufficient to deal with the new problem.

I mean, using the opium dens as an excuse for mass-deportations was pretty evil but it was pragmatic self-interested evil. Convincing the general public that a nigh on ubiquitous drug could turn an entire race into the incredible hulk, and then giving the police not only an excuse (as if they needed one), but literally bigger guns to shoot them with was something else. Reefer madness was moral panic. The campaign against cocaine was more like calculated mass murder at the hands of the state.

I've never heard of Vin Mariani but it sounds like a truly divine beverage
