Opioids harvesting poppy pods.

This is my first time posting on this site, I'm hoping I'm posting this under the right thing and that I can get some help.
I picked some poppies and put them in a vase so I can have some pods after they bloom. The petals have fallen off and now I have some very small pods. I'm wanting to collect seeds from the pods so I can grow some flowers in my garden. Will the pods mature to produce seeds, even after I've already picked the flowers and have them in a glass of water. Or since they aren't growing from the plant in the soil I won't get anything from these pods? Did I make a mistake from picking the flowers and trying to let the pods mature in a glass of water? Please help....

Hey there welcome to bluelight, it appears as if you're attempting to get some help cultivating papaver somniferum, aka opium poppies.

Now would be a good time to read the rules you agreed to upon registration, the BLUA and OD Guidelines, links to both are in my signature.

We do not allow discussion of cultivation of plants that are quasi-legal, a google search will get you much further.
