has anyone successfully done this
i have the papaver soniferum seeds and read these instructions on erowid http://www.erowid.org/plants/poppy/poppy_info1.shtml
i just wanted to know if anyone has tried it....seems pretty simple to me so i know there must be some secret hard part or why arent there a lot more people doing it? i would like to smoke some pure opium before i die so hopefully this will work
i'm on a growing kick lately, grew some shrooms and am hoping this will work too..any feedback?
 
When you say harvesting I take it that you mean once they are ready to 'bleed'?
I have plenty of experience with that but not of growing.

well according to erowid you just scrape the seed pods all over with a pin and let the white liquid sit out for a few hours and it will become dark and sticky....is that pretty much right on?
 
Yeah, it might surprise you to know that there is nothing involved in harvesting opium other then, well, collecting it... you grow your poppies, slit them, collect the milk, and wait for it to set - BADDA BING, BADDA BANG! You're in, you're out, no problem!
 
alright then...can't wait for my babies to grow!
hell even if i fuck up somehow, i'll at least have some pretty flowers :D
 
by "assload" could you give a rough poppies:grams of harvest ratio? this is something i've been daydreaming about for a while
 
damn, i'd be happy with just a gram of something good.
i dont know if i have enough poppies - my friend has a kind of "greenhouse" and we planted 2 beds full. *got my fingers crossed*
 
There are some things that will help you out like-
if theyre out of the ground them keep them in warm water.
Slit them with a razor blade but only very lightly.
Um I guess thats all, not as much help as I had anticipated as the way I prepare poppies does not apply in this situation.

Oh, two beds is more then ample to get a moderate amount of opium for yourself - don't think you're going to start slinging opium mind you, but you will have enough to keep yourself fucked up for awhile...
Personally you have enough that I would make some tea! You can save a little opium to smoke, I mean, thats all good and whatnot - but if you want your little plants to SERIOUSLY compete with pharmacy grade shit, you take the pods and make POPPY TEA which not only taste good, makes you brests larger (if you're female, if you're male it makes your penis larger) but increase your IQ by 20%, clears up acne, helps you attract people of the oposite sex (it's not gay, so if you're into people of the same sex this wont work) .. oh yeah, IT GETS YOU REALLY HIGH!
It goes without saying that you GENTLY score them and give your babies time to recover between milkings .. collect the seeds from your BIGGEST and MOST PRODUCTIVE pods, you can plant them with better reasults then the seeds you have now!
