A long while ago I purchased a 4 pack of 200mg capsules filled with all the alkaloids of the Harmala plant. The seller informed me they did not separate the alkaloids but delivered them altogether.
I took one, felt kinda nice for a couple hours. Didnt do much for me. Saved the other three for later.
Well here I am in Peru and i decided, out of sheer boredom, to just pop all 3 and see whats what.
At 9:20 I took the 600mg of Alkaloids.
T+45 - Sitting at the computer BS'in on Facebook and wikipedia. Feeling a lil smiley face going on here. Some mild euphoria felt during this phase.
Around T+70, I went to sleep. It was a natural decision and I felt relaxed and sleepy, although this was rather early for me lately.
I woke again at 2:45 AM, or T+5:25. That period of sleep had the most vivid dreams I can remember in pretty much ever. There was little lucidity, but there was self awareness. There are a few reasons why these dreams stand out to me:
1. They were each transitioned from one to another through some act of me going back to bed. So in between each dream adventure, still in my dream, I was returning to my actual bed.
2. The realism was astounding. Many of the things could have actually happened. Real life daily living things were included, more later. Colors were alive and rich sound was present.
3. They were easy to recall, save for the first one, each scene was distinct and yet all in the same sleep. usually you cant remember more than a couple moments, in this case I recall most all of the details.
I will now explain the dreaming and you can see how it was. To avoid confusion, any event happening in the dream is in italics, real world is regular.
I can only remember the ending of this one. I was in a underground tomb of some sort. I had recently seen the ruins of Pachacamac a couple days prior so I assume this inspired some Indiana Jones-esque exploration. The detail in the tomb was exquisite.
The fade to the next scene was strange. Essentially all that I saw in that tomb sorta faded out as if somebody turned the opacity from 100% to about 30%. Behind the fading ruins was now a large warehouse type room. I was laying on the floor. The room then shrunk, the ruins vanished, and i was laying in my bed again.
Turning over, I saw a path through the 'warehouse' and walked towards it. A bizarre scene had me laying near a weight bench and talking to myself in a mirror. What about I dont know. It had some weight to it though, it felt heavy and important. The mirror broke, turned into a door. Walking through it put me in a car that was flying out of control.. I would have died. Instead I woke up in my bed (still dreaming).
Now in my bed once more, I feel that I cannot sleep in my dream. I decided to relocate. For some reason once I'd leave the room, the warehouse feel re-appeared. I had to walk by this flooded area. I was carrying my laptop to listen to music (something I've never seen in a dream) and held it high to avoid getting it wet. I fell into some kind of hole in the water.
My laptop gone, and I'm sinking deeper into the water. A giant squid-like thing approaches me and struggles to pull me down. This was the most powerful dream visually. An underwater ancient ruin was here. And in fact, a war was waging between sea creatures. A man on a normal horse was wielding a spear and asked me to carry it and fight with him. The enemy was simply a sprawling wavy darkness. I lunged into it and re-appeared in my bed. Still dreaming and asleep.
At this point, things shifted gears. The dreams actually went very real life for a while. My next one has me, after popping back into bed, sitting with my best friend from the US. He was helping me with the trip. It felt like it was getting tougher. I had a small knot in my stomach and felt shaky (again in dreamworld) and he was just helping me distract myself. We talked a while. Unfortunately, anybody I looked at had very tiny eyes. Like pin pricks and it looked so creepy I couldnt keep talking. I had to leave the room.
I now enter into a small "family" room in my house I live in with one other person. It wasnt accurate in location or layout. But it was our house. The roommate and her BF walked in and I was laying on a sleeper chair. I said I needed a change of scenery to fall asleep. I scared the shit out of her in the dream cause it was dark and she was looking for a blanket but I think i was using it. Didnt expect me there. This seemed like it actually could have happened. She suggested I go back to my room and so I did.
And now I wake up.
Back in reality, I feel very strange. Realize this is my first true physical contact with my current state. I first felt like I had actually disturbed my roommate and felt bad about that. I could hear the two were "awake" so I really figured that was an actual event. I still dont know 100% actually. Thats how real that last part was.
Physical effects: I have a strong body buzz. Im vibrating like P'diddy's sidekick. Its almost too much. But it feels kinda nice at the same time. However the shake has also caused walking to be very difficult. In addition, full muscle control is not possible. At one point, though my lips were dry I could not stick my tongue out on them.
Visually, looking at the floor produced a very square patterning. Similar to other psych's persian carpets, this one however had a decidedly all square formation and no other shapes were used. It was still very ornate though. Shadows on the ceiling would morph into windmills, animals, just about anything.
I found CEVs to be pleasant. I could look in my head and actually see things much more vividly with my imagination. These were controlled. But they looked quite real. Audio accompanied. True CEVs not of my nature were also experienced. There were some flying patterns and a few blue spirals, but nothing super outrageous and most were mild.
Audio was also modified here. I had a sort of high pitch change at times listening to music. kinda like "wee-oooooweeeeeeeeooo"
I decided to get up and have a sip of water. I then realized I had a very cool looking force field visual effect around me. Due to my massive vibration from the buzz, I was shaking. But around my body was an outline of a sort of invisible wall. It felt like I had a force field on me. Every move I made kept the outline going. Tracers were noticed on the outline but not me.
Laying back down, I faded into a short dream which took me in a helicopter, flew me away from an island, and plunged me into the cold water. I was re-enveloped by the previous dark shadow of the sea. I then would transition to my bed, and start flying. I actually had a couple of these dreams twice, later on in the night. But more or less they consisted of me having the energy to fly like a little bit but not much. Sorta like a car in neutral down a hill, I could pick up speed but not put more in.
I also flew along the edge of the road and hit a pothole somehow. Dream was weird. I landed on a hill and looked up and saw two men standing laughing and one of the simply killed the other and looked back at me. I would wake up here
Its now T+9 hours
Then the problems occured. It seemed that my previous dreams about talking to a friend and waking people were more likely a premonition. I had layed on my stomach for a bit cause sometimes i do that when I cant sleep. Big mistake. I had read about nausea from here, but I hadnt had anything. Until then. Within about 2 minutes of laying on my stomach I started heaving. I puked up quite a bit.
It got worse. I returned to my bathroom 2 more times and puked up all I had. It was ridiculous. I mean the 3rd one had nothing but saliva I had been swallowing since the 2nd visit. There was nothing left to puke up and i was doing like 5 heaves and then I'd stop. It was not pleasant at all.
I would have two more small occurances in my room that could be disposed of in the trash.
Attempting to take xanax to slow things down did nothing and I ended up puking them up anyway.
While resting trying to sleep i would see some more bizarre visuals. A spec of dust in the air floated into a spider and crawled up my wall. A splatter of red dots on my wall crawled down like fire ants and would hide behind my bed. Little things like that.
I layed down and managed to hang in there. I think its mostly gone. No effects linger.
So overall, very unusual and very interesting trip. I found the dreams at first to be almost hallucinogenic. Some were reminiscent of a Benadryl run where you find yourself thinking things exist that dont. I'm sure I didnt actually talk to my roommate last night, but at the time I truly did think so.
Body feelings were good at first but the end of the night nausea made the whole thing just too much to bear.
Anyway, I know its long but thanks for reading.
