I have been snorting heroin for about a year now. I hate the person I have became. The hardest things for me to stop is my job And the fact that no one else know of my problem. Taking off work is not really possible.. I'm day two without anything but a xanax and slept horrible last night. Im working now.well mostly been hiding feeling sorry for myself. And Iknow the minute i leave This place I'm going to score...ijust need some courage from someone who has been in my shoes before I guess...

Well I've never really been addicted to heroin but I have been to oxy and various benzos throughout the past year/year and a half and all I can say in regards to quitting is really, just try to project yourself into the future and think of how incredibly proud and happy with yourself you'll be if you succeed in quitting; and on the opposite, how ashamed you'll be and how much you'll hate yourself if you use again. The first few days are the hardest, just remember that with every second that goes by it gets just a tiny bit easier and you're just a tiny bit closer to your goal. You'll be so much happier once you're clean.
Just a note - be careful not to trade your heroin addiction for another. When I got off xanax I just started using oxy daily a couple months later so it was a bit pointless.

Good luck, I'm sure you can do it!

Get yourself some loperamide. It really does help more than you would think. I'm on day 2 and I feel like i could go for a jog or workout right now. I'm taking 16mg of loperamide, 20mg adderall (as needed), and .5mg lorazepam (as needed).

^ Loperamide (Imodium) is exactly what you need if you cannot obtain suboxone or something else to help you. It is an opioid-receptor agonist and acts on the μ-opioid receptors similar to opiates. It cannot pass the blood brain barrier so it is ineffective for recreational use but in regards to opiate withdrawal it works wonders. It is intended for intestinal troubles so you will need to take more than the recommended dose on the back of the box to be effective against withdrawals. Take a little over the recommended dose (start at 12mgs at once) give it an hour and if you don't feel relief take 6~mgs more every hour until you begin to feel relief. 20mgs was usually the sweet spot but it is good to start low. When you find the effective dose repeat it when you begin to feel the symptoms returning. It works, I promise. <3

if i was in that position i'd buy a monthly calendar and mark off each day with a big X when you havent used

and have that in your room as a constant reminder of your improvement once you are ready to kick

I had some bupe took it for about a week was doing good actually But once i stop taking it my emotions get all out of wack, I'm depressed, and I don't wanna Move Especially not work.. and that's the hardest part...

The Imodium helps for other things besides stomach pains?

I can get some subutex occasionally but not positive on what doses to take, or how to come off with them... how lking I should take them ect. If anyone can help that would be great

hi callmek - search bluelight for
taper schedule. or taper with suboxone .. i think you'll find great info - lots of people have posted schedules.
good luck with everything!!

Happiness can only be bought with opiates for so long. Might take years to get there but eventually tolerance outstrips your ability to keep one step ahead of it and they stop doing much beyond keeping you free of withdrawal, though what stabilising effect they continue to have on mood to any extent becomes apparent when you stop just as you found with the bupe and the sudden wild fluctuations in mood coming off often send people back to the stability of their DOC before they give themselves chance to get past it.

I wouldn't recommend buprenorphine or other partial / full agonists if you can avoid it. Not necessary if you can ride out withdrawal with the loperamide. Just giving yourself something else to rattle off once the H has worked its way out your system though might be an easier withdrawal from it, true. It's dragging out withdrawal in any event I think with the initial adjustment then detox, think you've discovered that already reading your later posts. Loperamide shouldn't do that over much. Yes, they're effective for more than the stomach upset they're designed to treat. Didn't know about it when I came off years ago but meant to help with lots of your classic symptoms of opiate withdrawal. Try that first and grit your teeth, tough it out. Go easy with the Xanax where you can as you still might not sleep through peak withdrawal even with it but can make you feel even groggier and lethargic than you would anyways. Use it to re-establish a sleeping pattern once out the backside of withdrawal if supplies are limited, avoid using it longer than a week or so at most.

Best of luck! You too Fearz. Stick with it. :)

Update: I continued using but now I think I have realized it is time to stop. I came across two 8mg subutex (the last ones I can get Since he no longer Gets them) I'm on day two and doing great. I have Done alot of research but I'm wondering if i should Do a 2 week Detox or shorter. How bad will it be iff i do 4, 4, 4, 2, 2 jump? Or should i do 4, 2, 2, 2, 2, 1, 1, 1,.5,.5,.5,.25,.25,.25? Imo the quicker the better And i am off work sunday threw wednesday so i will Have a few Days to deal with if i chose The shorter detox. I'm just afraid Of jumping from 2mg. Sorry for the horrible punctuation....

Also I bought some vitamins and amino acids. Also some immodium and sleeping aids I'm planning on using them the most after jumping from bupe. You would never believe me if I told you my background. Not the typical junkie imo. Smh at myself for even letting something like this happen. I could deal with the wd if I didn't work and knew how long I would have to worry about them. Just feels like they will never end....
