Alcohol hangover anxiety :(

pretty sure adderall would be a horrible idea for me. im trying to slow my heart down, any upper would send me over the edge. i cant even drink coffee. i had some hair of the dog, a few mixed drinks and it has helped some but i know i am just prolonging the inevitable and probably making it worse in the long run. the orgasm isnt a bad idea though. might try to crank one out. the release of dopamine and tryptophan might be helpful

Trying to slow heart rate down? correct me if this in any way dangerous but --->atenolol.

i tried to add you but am not able because im still a noob. but italians are the greatest thing to happen to modern society. if you flush a toilet, enjoy indoor plumbing, air conditioning in your home, have to have brain surgery, like to bathe more than twice a year, ect. say grazie to an italian because the romans invented all that shit 2,000 years ago. the persians and chinese are close contenders but i am obviously biased

thanks for reminding me why i stopped posting on BL, stay on topic cuz, this isnt jersey shore and noone cares if your proud to be Italian. Alcoholics tend to experience severe anxiety and that why its easier to keep drinking, people who dont drink alot just tend to feel shitty and tired after a bender on alcohol.

Unfortunately my friend, hangovers come with the territory. As far as anxiety, you should be able to get Xanax, which helps me sleep after boozing. The best is coke while drinking, it's like impossible to get drunk, but you do get a hangover. Good luck my man :)

Using coke (the drink) as a mixer is a bad idea, since it has caffeine.

As someone else said, beta blockers might be a good idea, since they lower blood pressure and heart rate. Classical musicians, surgeons, performers etc. use them to keep their hands steady and control the physical symptoms of anxiety, since they don't cloud the mind or cause any major neuro-chemical effects like benzos.

Um, I didn't mean the drink. I also don't think classical musicians, surgeons, or performers should do anything with a hangover

Wasn't referring to your post, but to where the OP mentioned drinking vodka & coke on the first page.

Well I'd hope not, but that's beyond the point.

I've observed that while my high levels of anxiety provided the primary impetus for my alcohol consumption (because of its anxiolytic and disinhibiting effects), alcohol also seems to exacerbate my anxiety over the long run once its effects wear off. A hangover is accompanied by worse anxiety than sobriety, but for me abstaining from alcohol still produces a markedly higher average intensity and quantity of episodes of anxiety per day than I experienced prior to using alcohol regularly.

My advice may not come as a significant help, but for me the most convenient remedy for a hangover's accompanying anxiety has always been simply drinking more liquor.
