hallucinogens and hives........

this is a question about my friend, not about me (oddly enough)
but my friend dosed some shrooms the other week and they made him break out in hives, they were bad shrooms, he had to eat 1/4 before tripping on them, but a little into the trip he got big hives all over his body....
Then this last weekend he robo'd (he's very experienced with robo) and he got mad hives then too, this was the first time it happened to him on robo (and thats after about 100 times)....
so does anyone know why this would happen to him?

Hives are usually caused by an alleric reaction ( which could have been the case with mushrooms, but is pretty rare), they can also be caused by stress. What was this guy's mind set going in to both the DXM and the boomers? Has he taken these before?
