And about my stupidity, yes I know I'm being dumb but
I do think that its being blown up a fair bit.... I've seen
Swelling, infection, puss.... Most if not all the time your body clears
It up so I just wanted to see if it would do that on its own...
I'm really scared of my wife finding out, I've been
Wanting to quit for a long time I just hate it all$
So badly but I haven't had a good chance to do it,
I just know it might end our marriage because I've been
Dishonest about this for so long, she has every right to be mad
About something like this being hidden for over.a year now

I know nobody wants to help me, but is there any type
Of injury that could be similar in symptoms? Anything I
Could even tell the wife what happened a while bqck and
Anything at all that would cause a lump to show in my leg
kind of close to the surface and to hurt a little
And whatnot? I will be honest with the doc but
Anything I can tell my woman so that she doesn't run off with
My baby? Its only another week to 3 weeks and I'm in the methadone
Program, I can't wait, then I don't have to hide or$
Pretend things, I can just be honest from then
On.... Again I know most of you think I'm a stypid fuck of
A loser, but maybe you could overlook that for 5 mins
And give me a suggestion of what I could say happened...

Some people (me included) are being aggressive in telling you that you NEED to get medical attention, but how is that being misinterpreted as insulting? You're acting like this is no big deal, when in reality it is and needs to be treated as such.

OK, well, then, sir. PLEASE, take it from a 22 yr old who has been a member of BL for about 5 years and who has had 3 abscesses, gone to the ER for all of them, taken antibiotics for all of them and who hasn't lost any limbs / had anything serious happen as a result BECAUSE I knew what I had to do. You have to suck it up, realize that you're not a kid anymore and TAKE RESPONSIBILITY for your actions. YOUR WIFE?! I think, in the long-run, she'd be more upset if something serious happened (i.e. losing a limb) if she found out you stuck a needle in yourself, something you could get HELP with, whereas once you've lost a limb you can't do anything about it, it's gone. In the interest of harm reduction I hope you will listen to some of us who actually know our shit and are looking out for your best interest.

It depends on how far along the infection is, but if it has progressed into a full blown abscess then yeah, they'll have to 'lance' it or whatever it's called. From what I've heard, once the infection starts if you wait more than 4 or 5 days to get help then chances are you'll have to have it lanced. If you go within the first few days of infection then it will usually clear up with antibiotics alone.

Any way about it, noone here can tell you for sure. What we can tell you though is that despite what happens as a result of you getting it looked at by a doctor, the end result will be MUCH better than if you just let this try and "work itself out".

Good luck man, glad to hear you've decided to get it looked at. Definitely not a stupid move
