Sitting on my bed at night
In complete darkness
except for the light from
the clock on my VCR
1:43
I stand up my wallet
so even that light is covered
and I pick up my guitar.
the sadness starts raining from my fingers,
each note the replacement for a tear I cant cry.
"Is there anybody out there?"
what a fitting name
for the song I play when I feel alone.
In my head all feeling is forgotten
as its pumped through my fingers
into the rusty old strings.
I could almost swear
I can hear the violin from the song
the one that always makes my heart want to break.
As I play my eyes drift
to the flashing light on the top of my phone,
and deep down inside me I pray
that the screen will light up
with the familiar name
of someone that I love
just calling to see how i am.
The notes continue to splash onto the floor
but the phone doesnt ring.
Is there anybody out there?

harraser this was so beautiful..so tragic. but hey look at it this way there's a whole bunch of us listening on this board... :)
"and I pick up my guitar.
the sadness starts raining from my fingers,
each note the replacement for a tear I cant cry."
...this is so good it hurts...
