Growing in apartment: too risky?

it wouldnt even be worth it. first of all your already blabbing your mouth and thats how you get caught. search the internet for grow tips and dont talk! and if your going to do a grow do it right, not in a pc case, thats not going to stealth your grow much. marijuana smells and youll see light coming out of your case.
 
Its not as risky as some people say, obviously dont talk about it is the #1 rule. But regarding the smell i know tons of people who smoke trees in their living rooms in apartments and have grow ops that never get busted. Its kind of hard to get a warrant when a hallway smells like pot when it could be any number of houses or reasons. Be smart about it but the pc grow case is a dumb idea. plants grow much taller then the height of a computer case, i mean come on havent you ever looked at a plant on the internet or some shit? Even in the vegetative state they get pretty tall, how the fuck would a pc grow box work? And if your actually going to do this you need an hid light, end of story. Fluorescent lights produce shitty yields and shitty bud. Your going to need to do a little more research before growing, your not growing something simple that you put by the window water once a day and poof pounds of weed.
 
^Is that what was meant by "pc grow case"? I thought it was some cutting edge technique or some shit. Growing dope in a computer, that's an amusing proposition.
 
yep it'll go through your vents and everyone will smell that dank...unless you dont plan or growing proper dro.

you've clearly never grown a plant in your life. first off, you can train plants so that they DON'T outgrow the confines of the box. second, fluoros, especially in such a tight space, work with even better efficiency than HIDs since you aren't left with too many lumens that won't even be used nor the problems caused by the immense heat generated by HIDs.

A PC grow is entirely doable but first you have to consider which case to buy. bigger and emptier is always better but odds are you're gonna have to make a few mods to the case yourself either to make more room in it or to insulate it from light because remember NO light can be allowed to leak in.

then you have to consider what you're growing. best bet would be to grow from clones because that takes all the male/female guesswork out of it and you're free to grow a strong plant from clone to bud. either you can establish a small SCROG setup within the case while you're modding it, or LST, or even more simply just stack some high wattage CFLs in the very top of the case, shield them off with a pane of lexan/glass then let teh plant grow as it wants to and just trim it ocassionally.

so in conclusion, it's doable but that leaves you waiting 2-3 months on at most a 2oz dry harvest
 
^It's doable, but don't you think a mini stealth modified-computer SCROG grow is a bit advanced? And even with all the pruning and training in the world I think a PC case is a stretch with a decent strain. The OP is from the States, without access to all those tasty Nova Scotia clones...

How much would the lawyer fees run you for trying to beat a growing case because someone smelled something? A good grower, dealer or anyone in an illegal industry generally factors lawyer fees into the equation.. if you don't you could easily come home to a nice mountain of debt once your bid is up.
 
The OP is talking about a tiny grow to support his half gram a day requirements, I doubt legal fees have been factored in

Not sure really, I am a casual smoker that drops an E once in a while and I have it all worked out =/

I guess I just like to have all bases covered.

it's risky, but whether or not it's "too risky" depends on your willingness to accept risk, as well as the consequences of being caught where you are.

That is pretty much the point of the PC case to grow it in. It should just look like a normal computer you know? Im thinking even if a guy came in and smelled something, he wouldnt ever suspect the computer. (And I would take every precaution to minimize/eliminate smell)

no roommates. Gonna be moving to a new area. So I will not know anyone. Dont expect to have parties or anything at my house, but if i meet a girl she would definitly be coming over, and if i meet some friends i would have em over drinking and whatnot, sure.
 
if you're moving soon then go for it. i understand the whole "no connections where you're moving" thing.

growing some before you move so you have enough to make up for the time you have to spend finding connections once you move seems smart.
 
I hope your landlord doesn't EVER stop by. not saying they'll see it or smell it but you might act funny trying to hide it and they'll think something is up and get really suspicious. i had to kill a grow in a house in college in the basement b/c we acted all strange about the landlord changing the pilot light down there. she got all pissed off, saying we were hiding shit...

but yea...lots of things to consider...like, what are the pot laws in your area? are you near a public school? where are you gonna get your supplies? are your next door neighbors nosey as fuck?
